my boyfriend has the most respect for me and all women...he is a true gentleman. We go into a few shops from time to time and get the same thing "You two are our favorite couple." or "You never see a man open a door for a lady anymore how sweet."

I think a lot of the problem actually stems back to three things.

At some point society allowed popular mens media to take on a tone that hated women and didn't do much better for men. Men were removed from being heroic providers to base animals thinking every moment about raw sex with any female. Perversion was somehow ok and hateing women and either tricking them or forceing them into submission was ok because women were seen as connivieing and needed and liked force. Porn magazines became readily available and about the only source of education that men had about sex and relationships.

About the same time women were seperated from their support circles of mature parents by massive migration and being drawn out of the neighborhoods into the work force often making the man of the house seem unneccessary or at the very least impotent.

Lastly because both parents were working children's new primary teachers were their teachers and from pre-adolecence on they didn't even have that in over crowded revolveing classrooms begun and ended not when the subject was covered but when the bell rang. To make matters worse the responsibility of the school ended little more than half way through the day children went home to raise children; often in a private adult playground. Adults frequently used and abused cheap gateway drugs; cigarettes, beer, and pot. With minimal supervision children immitated. Children out of control stressed already in crisis marriages to fall apart. The succeding generations spiraled down even faster without grandparents hardly seeing the next generation.
