Before I can speak to the OP question posed, seems more of an imperative to speak to the tone of some responses. There is a big difference in stating an opinion and bashing a poster, or their chosen topic. The heckling wreaks of juvenile inability to thoughtfully rally for your paticular campaign. There can be so much better discussed disagreements than the contentious devolution exemplified here.ohwell

Why participate in a thread you don't even think should exist? Like a business that you wish to see fail, keep on driving. There must be some threads that you approve of? To be sure, there are many I don't bother to open. On those that I open and wish I didn't, due to the content producing an immediate gag reflex? I beat a quick retreat out of there!

Where was the compassion for his stated ability to find an excellent alternative to a problem of significant magnitude in his own life? Even if you violently disagree!? Why stay just to lob rotten tomatoes and eggs? Again, move along, nothing to see here. waving

Just a suggestion before I can even submit an opinion. And, I want to contribute, as I believe it is ever so relevant a question, particularly given the background he presented!

As to the diatribe reference? Hey, if a fella can't give a heartfelt speech in his own thread, then where?spock

Flame away! I'd rather go answer his question now!flowerforyou

And that is a BIG subject. Off the cuff? EXTREMELY pro marijuana! How to get that to parlay into a functional access system? Tricky!

As an alternative, natural medicines professional, I've seen it employed to remarkably positive results, in many and varied health issues. Time and again, it is ALL that would work, esp. in chemo, terminal illness pain and, well, again, on and on and on...

First though, how to ingest? Smoking is NEVER good for the lung and only the most moderate smoking won't damage.

To this end, orally ingesting it is best route if possible. That is, if patient is tolerating solids and/or teas.

Intraveneous and suppositories are the only other methods. So, that often takes one back to a puff or two, better than no access at all.

Legalising is great. Would put a lot of associated crime to pasture. Then again w/ regulation, it puts the "Govt./Drug Co. mafias" in charge. Still, at least then legal and accessible. But, what would it do to the price?Does that once again eliminate access?

Having lived in a marijuana tolerant society, Amsterdam, I've seen the underbelly of that too. Organised crime now riddles and undermines all of Holland. The Ma & Pa greenhouses and coffeshops are great. The Triad and other darkhouse massive crime families now hosting the party gone wrong!?! Not so much... Even Holland has now rescinded its stance of tolerance, to beat back the prolific weeds that overtook the garden.

So, being pro is the easy bit! Getting it to work so far on the outskirts of Utopia? Sigh...
Just grow your own, be careful, moderate and keep your head ducked on the downlow...

Andy, carry on; be careful and smart. Props for addressing your issues! drinker

PS - If pot is abusive and detrimental to the mind, what of the overkill in narcotic and otherwise pharmaceuticals? Much bigger problem!

I agree with you on this topic and about the pharmaceuticals.....but I do believe the courts would definitely be not as busy and spend less of the taxpayers money prosecuting illegal marijuana crimes and intake tax revenues if they legalized and did it in a manner such as in alcohol and cigarettes.

And I believe they have stores already selling it in califorinia from what I heard.

I SO agree, almost anything is better than the approach now in place. As stated, I'm profoundly and devoutly pro.

I was playing Devil's advocate and illustrating the proven downside. My approach would prolly be a tax incentive to grow your own, coupled to a community educational how-to!!! The govt. is already growing the best, now teach!!!

That's how PRO I am. Like Anatomy and Physiology? It SHOULD begin in elementary school, if not kindergarten!

Oh, and my understanding in Ca, is that you still need a prescription.?? So many can't afford a doctor, insurance or prescriptions, much less be deemed as one meeting prescription
qualifications. Sigh...ohwell

From what I understand you do not have to provide a written or verbal prescription, this information comes from friends living there.

BEAUTIFUL!!! OMG!!! As stated, have camped every corner of CA. I've done all the way up to Vancouver of the West. So much to experience on that land! Majestic!!!

Then again, I've followed the rivers in the National Forests and camped almost all of the US, and parts of Canada. The parts I've not seen/done? They beckon unto me w/ the mightiest roaring whisper. drinker

I was only kidding. IndnPrncs is NOT "420 compliant". I bet she doesn't even know what "420" means.
