get the hint? How many unreturned phone calls and/or e-mails does it take for you to figure out that you are old news?

you mean I might actually have to call some one? Or e-mail them?

wow, is this that communication thing people always talk about?

naw, depending on the subject of the e-mail or phone call....three would be my magic number

Two or three. I am smart enough to not let it continue. If I get that impression, screw it, I'm done. If they finally DO decide to call back at some later point, I just might conveniently be busy, too.

Homey don't play dat game.

Could one just be unavoidable circumstance? You can see a pattern after two...

It would entirely depend upon the situation and the time frame.

But usually if you do not hear back in a day or two, or even get a quick text letting you know what the deal is, it's over.

Extenuating circumstances apply, illness, work, etc, but those are rarely bad enough not to warrant a quick informational phone call. Besides, if that person was truly in your life, they'd seek you out for support, not push you away. Usually, anyhow....

I'll call once and leave a message (if need be) if I don't get a return call....the number gets deleted out of phone. I refuse to call again. If they are not respectful enough to return a call then they are not worth my time.

One thing that really frosts my cake is whenever you call, you ALWAYS get the voicemail. I can understand occasionally, or if you know when they're probably busy, but every time? No. Ain't nobody that busy. I want to talk to THEM, not their friggin' machine.

I’m with Lee. Just one. I also ONLY will take the man's number and that way it is on me to contact him when I decide I want to and not vice versa. If a man calls me more than a couple times and I have not bothered to return his call, then I will begin to question his sanity.

If I don't call my mother at least once a week I get an e-mail saying I am going to be placed on the "bad daughter list".....

I refuse to call the house phone, because that might necessitate a conversation with my ex.
