ACLU doesn't want the bad people set free. They are protecting people's rights.

If you know anything about the ACLU they are only interested in representing and setting free the scum of the earth.Much like liberals the ACLU deeply hates America.That is why you never see the ACLU representing any cases that actually help America or make America a better or safter place.They have tried to set free every terrorist in Cuba and have always taken the side of radical Muslims.You don't have to look too hard to find their cases and the way they work against the justice system in America.As far as this case goes...there is no doubt in my mind the scum sucking ACLU will sue the California government so they can not take the assets of these gang members.Much like the terrorist I have no sympathy for these gang members and the people who chose to associate with them.

Some folks have a difficult time understanding the concept of protecting people's rights. The ACLU fights battles for the religious as well, some folks just don't bother looking those up.

I man disagree with a case the ACLU takes on, but I understand their purpose.

It's sad when people have to go out of their way to prove that the ACLU also protects Christians, but this man did just that.

The ACLU and the local law enforcement it seems must really be careful on this one. Not to trample the rights of those not involved in gang crime. I sure would not want to be in their place as they figure this one out.

I understand they have represented the Christians but if you look at the hundreds of cases they have done it is overwhelmingly against the Christians and what they do.I can only imagine the few cases they did representing the Christians did it not because they cared about the Christians but to only enhance their public relations image as a anti Christian origination.

Well I don't spend my time watching every case taken by the aclu. Nor, believe it or not, do I watch every case brought by christians against gay issues and other matters. I would like to say that christians don't deserve some of the anger they are getting but unfortunately they do deserve some of what they have dished out for decades to those they don't care for.

Sorry, but that year (1931) made me think of history class.

Just prior to that came the time when Unions were getting their start in the United States and because of the large number of strikes they were called Communists for 'trying to cripple the economy for a Communist takeover.' Not long after this period came the Macarthy (sp?) Years and it's flood of anti-communist paranoia. The whole period between the two, about 15 years filled with fear of communist take over. Anything and anybody that challenged the staus quo of the time was labeled communist.



Regarding their complaint. They are quite right. It's not every Latino who is in a gang, not every Black who is a Black Panther, not every Oriental is a Tong member nor is it every White who is KKK. One cannot be guilty simply due to race or language.

I was thinking about the school and prayer thing...the girl was told she would not be able to show her faith at the ceremony, some people look at that and say freedom of speech. I look at that and what about the other person right to not hear that.

I was in 5th grade when my teacher started a prayer, i know he shouldnt have but he did, i picked up my books, grabbed my backpack and walked out of class.

Rather than make a fuss about it I just left the classroom till he was done. When I was asked why I left, I said simply that I am not religious and did not care to hear or say a prayer.

Before people say it was my parents that made me non religious, my mother is catholic and prays every night and I never knew my father.

I dislike the ACLU because they bring law suits against the dumbest things, such as Christmas trees in airports. They threatened the airport i work at because we had 3 trees set up, but we kept them up for the season and took them down in January.

I'm sorry, but if a decorated tree offends you, than you should not leave the house.

The ACLU generally takes cases that have large legal implications.

They have represented career criminals but also police officers.

Cases the ACLU has been involved in have helped to ensure your freedom to bray like an ass in on-line forums and in your home town.

They have protected your right to vote.

They have helped ensure you are treated properly if arrested. (Yes innocent people get arrested)

Narrow neocon bias has prevented some from seeing the larger picture but I am not surprised by that when it comes from simplistic shallow thinkers who cannot even conceive of the great consequences that can arise out of complex legal issues.
