In the classic sense of metal, I'm a big Judas Priest fan. Alot of
their music is just angry at the world thats great to rock out too after
a bad day.

With new metal out I like Slipknot because its just thrash metal at its
best. It as a singer who can sing (and scream) and 300 band members (ok
not really but there are alot, its like Lyndard Skynard with masks lol)

Led Zeppelin were an English rock band who formed in 1968. Led Zeppelin
were comprised of Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Bonham, and John Paul
Jones. With their heavy, guitar-driven sound, Led Zeppelin are regarded
as one of the first heavy metal bands. Shortly after their first tour,
the group's self-titled first album was released on January 12, 1969.
Its blend of blues, folk, and eastern influences with distorted
amplification made it one of the pivotal records in the creation of
heavy metal music. However, Plant has commented that it is unfair for
people to typecast the band as heavy metal, since about a third of their
music was acoustic.

I can remember when they called Judas Priest the screamer.

I first got into metal when I heard Deep Purple and Iron Maiden. There
are a lot of excellent metal bands out there. Metallica's early stuff is
among my favorite.
I never did consider Led Zeppelin as heavy metal, although they're my
fav of all time.
I like all music. Really don't know if you could call me a metalhead. I
do like to crank the stereo to the max at times. Sammy Hagar's Heavy
Metal is a good one to rattle the dishes with.

I had a friend who had all of Deep Purple's records. I think his
favorite was Shades of Purple. Iron Maiden sure is sweet. Our radio
station disc jockey when introducing Rock makes this statement, "If it
is too loud then you are too old." I know I sure like to crank it
up.

We don't have a good rock station in the Edmonton area. Mediocre at
best.
I found a good one online. The guy's a big Priest fan, but he does play
quite a variety. Some bands I've never heard of and really liked.
Texas seems to have a lot of great radio stations! When I was in
Oklahoma I'd tune into some excellent programming.

I remember when I found out that you can repair speakers with fingernail
polish. I just installed a Pioneer radio with 50 amps. I was worried the
regular speakers couldn't take it but so far so good. Jensen triaxials
used to be the rage. I am so glad the radio and speakers today are all
together. I can remember having to install the amp, equalizers and
crossovers separately. There was always the problem of getting it all
wired correctly. The all in one sound box is big here. My brother
enjoyed making his own tube sound box.

Oh I still have them all separate...just waaaaay more expensive
nowadays. But hey...how else can I play my vinyls with Van Halen, Judas
P, Yngwie Malmsteen, T-Rex, KISS and so on

I bet you take real good care of them vinyls. My friend who had the Deep
Purple had the special record wiper and only held the records by the
outside edges. I learned that you can't clean cee dees and dvds like you
did the old records. I like the digital remastering they are doing in
transferring the old records to dvds. The sound enhancement is awesome.
Have you transferred any of your records to dvds?

I got a lot of them on cd as well and usually the sounds is better, but
not the feeling. Call me old and grumpy, but sometimes I just want to
hear that buzzing flickering sound when I put the arm down on the vinyl
and wait for the album to start

there are a lot for me...angra,dragonforce,therion,stratovarius,children
of bodom, the list can seriously go forever, but right now im seriously
lovin the D-force(dragonforce)...i always knew about them, i just
thought they were gonna be like any other power metal band like rahpsody
or whatever, like all that corny knights and drgons crap, but no, not at
all, i finally heard them on some random dudes myspace and i was blown
away, i was a big fan of the malmsteen thing for awhile, so i have a
thing (sometimes) for cool speed, not the gay speed that some bands just
do that are there to impress then for musical aspect...and since im
really into the videogame type music, they really take the cake with
some serious metal and some insane solos...i wouldnt call them solos,
actually theyre more like melodies that never repeat at 900 bpm...4 mins
of the actual song is in the first 4 mins and the rest of the 5 mins are
just INSANE solos and melodies or whatever...i call it, video game
metal!!

I can remember when Bose had giant speakers and I have heard Paul Harvey
speak of the new Bose Wave radio. When you mentioned that it wasn't just
the same made me think of that. I read where there is Wave II out now.
What do you think of the waveguide?

The gods of gwar is where its at and notheing compairs maybe and i mean
maybe metallica
