Should I beleave or not. People look at me and in a digusing look, because I dont walk or talk like them. It almost feels like an alien or a freak, should be kept locked. I constantly say "WHY"

People look at others when they look different from themselves. It's not about being disgusting. It's about trying to understand, IMO.flowerforyou

Actually, most people care........
but don't know what to say, when they see a person with a disabilty.

They probably don't mean to act that way.

Max....Here is a suggestion:

Trying smiling.

Then Watch the people smile back....

next thing you know, they will even be reaching out and hugging you....and Loving you..just as you are.

Max....By the way....

When God looks at you ,

He just sees you as the apple of His eye.

No, no, no, no, no!

That's NOT what's happening!

What's happening is that they look at you and see a disability, and they selfishly think to themselves that they wouldn't want to have that disability.

So because they are THINKING about something that they DON'T view as being something they want, their facial expression is going to naturally turn to an expression of disgust and repulsion.

It's not that they are looking at YOU and thinking, "How disgusting".

They can't even SEE YOU!

This is a natural thing, that you need to get past.

It's totally superficial on their part. And that doesn't mean that they are necessarily a superficial person. This is natural for most people to respond this way without even thinking.

They don't REALIZE that they are sending you a negative signal in their facial expression because they aren't even aware that they are wearing it!

You really need to give people time to get past the intial shock of anything that is 'abnormal', and let's face it, if you have a "disability" that's abnormal, otherwise it wouldn't be called a "disability".

You really need to just blow those first reactions off entirely. Don't read anything into them.

This just going to a fact of life for you. Expect it, and be shocked when it doesn't happen rather than depressed when it does.

Don't take it to mean rejection.

It's NOT rejection.

It's just a natural response that people will have.

You need to be EXTREMELY patient, and give people time to get past this.

Don't take it to mean anything about YOU as a person. They don't even know you as a person! How can they be rejecting you as a person? They can't.

Also know that social interactions aren't easy for people who don't have disabilities. So you've got all of that normal stuff on top of it.

But, no, you can't be taking it like they are rejecting you as a person. That's not what they are doing at all. Don't take it that way. That will just lead you to convince yourself that people are rejecting YOU, which isn't true at all.

Be glad you have a handsome face.

And a really cool car! drinker

Not a thing disgusting about you!

I agree completely with what Abra has said. People aren't seeing you. They're seeing their own fear... Not of you at all, darlin'.

The real disability is ignorance. That should be alienated.
