As you can see by looking at my photo, I have a weight problem. Two months ago, I started walkinga mile everyday and last month I added bicycling one mile 3 days a week. When I started, I could not fit into any of my jeans (talking about size 28 that were nearly worn out). Last week I went shopping, and extremely excited to find that I dropped at least two jeans sizes. I also recently noticed that my hips are quite smaller. Why is this so exciting to me? I haven't been able to buy a brand new size 26 jeans since 2002. I'm making it my goal to lose at least 2 more jeans sizes...

Good work. What kind of cycling are you doing? Do you have an indoor trainer?

Kudos to you. Add a veggie meal (like Subways [worked for me] and keep your metabolism active with halfway decadent snacks. Don't diet! Use your brain.

Again, Kudos.

I just have an old three speed bike. It's still kind of tough to get over those hills.

If you are doing this for yourself and for your health congrats. If you are doing it because you have been brainwashed by the tv and society to believe you are not beautiful just the way you are then I say to you, beauty is internal, it has nothing to do with our outer shell so make sure you stay beautiful on the inside and you will be okay.

Sounds like you're right on time. WTG. There is at least one thread that talks about emotional eating that I noticed you participating in, and it really sounds like you're headed in the right direction. Don't be ashamed if you fall backwards a bit just get right back on the bike! bigsmile bigsmile bigsmile You're bound to have setbacks and well ... frustrated frustrated It's part and parcel of what happens when you make such a big change for yourself.

Itll get easier.

You could try to find a cheap indoor trainer on craigslist. Just pop your bike in and go. You can watch television or utilize your computer or even read a book whilst cycling.

After a while you can begin cadence and climbing drills.

In any case you are doing something that I see many people unable to gather the will power to do. Good Work..again lol.

The healthier you get the more amazing you will feel mentally as well as physically.
