should we use it more or keep people in prison paying for them to live off our money
in my opinion it's mor inhumain to keep them ina 8by 8 cell for 50 years than it is to go ahead and put them out our misery |

...And suppose they're innocent?

Isn't that what is called health insurance in your country????

Isn't that what is called health insurance in your country???? LOL...It's what is known as the National Health Service...A misnomer if ever there was one |

If they have been proven guilty by DNA or there own admission...kill em all
|
|
|
|
If they are guilty beyond a reason of a doubt, and did a horrible horrible thing. Kill the SOB. I already think that people that abuse children should get the death penalty.

It is a matter of having deterrent force to prevent people from doing some of the harsh sh*t they do.
One would hope with a properly functioning justice system that innocent people would not get hurt by it but look at what we got today... Criminal rights? If that is not an insult to my intelligence! It would be nice if we didn't need it but in all reality it is a necessary evil. I do not want to support a murderer for the rest of his life! What about the rights of the victims? How can anyone use the Eye for an Eye argument when some of these dirt bags killed several people. How about that looney that recently offed his ex and their kids in a Santa Suit? He should be killed, resurrected, killed again, resurrected, and killed again for each of the people he killed. Then it would be an Eye for an Eye. Put to death humanely? Lethal Injection is being challenged in Superior Court. |

This thread and some of it's posters are unfortunately some of the reasons why your country feels a NEED to have the death penalty.
Sick societies create sick people... unbalanced societies create unbalanced people.... violent societies create violent people... it isn't bloody rocket science. Stop living in fear... start living in love. |

I think for the most part that we should incorporate some kind of public humiliation, but as far as murders go then yes, put em down and be done with it. Although, some murders are justified in my opinion. Say some guy rapes some female, and a guy she knows kill the rapist. The guy that killed the rapist should maybe serve some time, but not be put to death. That's just an example.

Stop living in fear... start living in love. In a perfect world Jess I tend to agree with you on a humane level. On a practical level, the death penalty, as applied in the US is an ineffective "deterrent" or "punishment." The system is far too screwed up and there is too much room for human error for it to be effective on many levels. So, yeah, abolish it as it just doesn't work. |

I am not for violence but for certain crimes (child molesting, rape, murder) I would agree to it. For murder if it's intentional yes if it's involuntary (like drunk driving) you get life with a small chance of parole.
If you check the statistics the countries that use the death penalty as a punishment are the counties that have the highest violent crime rate. |

The guy that killed the rapist should be killed? I don't see your reasoning, but ok. I'm a sick bastard though and I'm also pretty violent. There are certain trespasses a person can make and I will probably end up eventually killing them given the right situation. Then again, I'm Army. If someone threatens my life or a family members life, then they can pretty much kiss their ass goodbye. I guess I signed up for the right job..

I always say is they commit a crime with a certain body part, cut that body part off as punishment, for instance, if a little punk creates a spyware virus and it screws up alot of peoples systems, then cut his damn hands off, if a rapist rapes someone with his body part (you know what i mean) cut that thing off, I think it would work lol.
