Isn't getting to know each other the main thing? If they were able to do that while walking around the mall, is that such a bad thing?

Well in the initial post, it was mentioned that they spent 4 hours in a mall just walking around presumably. That was the entire reason to post this thread. To find other options. I could see browsing around for a half hour or so. But 4 hours? That should not be the meat of the date.

I wasn't saying anything bad against the mall idea just wondered what happened to having a nice dinner.

Dinner doesn't always have to be the first date. I'd actually prefer something a little shorter next time I go on one, as the last time I couldn't wait for dinner to be over.

My sister went on a date where the guy took her fising. They've been married 20 years now...

I was referring more to Ashley's posts. If he didn't like the mall, perhaps he'll take some of the suggestions into consideration.

I had a date with this guy about 6 months ago, he took me to the local casino. Which at first I thought was great. Hell I won $500.

After that the date turned really bad, went to dinner. He insisted on ordering for me and ordered a seafood medley plate. Now normaly this would sound great to anyone else EXCEPT I am allergic to shellfish and he knew it.

A casino for a date sounds fun. A date ordering my dinner for me does not sound fun.

....a drive wouldve been nice but there's really nothing special about it.

It can be fantabulous, especially if you are into nature, country charm, etc.

However, its not a good idea for a woman to get into a car and have a drive with a man on a first date. You don't know anything about a person until you have dated a few times. Getting into a car might put you in a vulnerable position and your person can be transported (and left) ANYWHERE....

The casino was fun especially since I didn't have to gamble with my money, however that is where the fun ended

I like the casino idea. laugh Im one of those types that you have to drag out by the hair though. I will spend whatever I set aside and then start hitting the ATM. happy

That reminds me of that "Rocky" movie. Remember he took Adrian to the zoo on their first date. I think in the middle of winter also. happy
