so i took a girl out to lunch one time , then walked around the coventry mall for about 4 hours (lame).

people told me i was an idiot becuase i should have just taking her out to the park or something "FREE". now i though that souded dumb but then again opinions are different.

Well the lunch thing sounded fine but dinners are generally more conducive to getting to know one another and allowing for intimate discussion. Walking around a mall for 4 hours is LAME. Was that her idea or yours? For one thing, if the guy asked if I wanted to do that, I would start to have doubts as it related to our overall compatibility. I’m more of an intellectual/naturalist type.

>.< Excuse me.

A.) It was our first meeting and I figured a mall was the safe route to go.

B.) There's nothing else to do in the middle of October.

There are PLENTY of activities besides visiting a mall and walking around for 4 hours. Use your imagination. Ever been to a museum, a movie, an art gallery? Taken a drive?

please. youd never see me in a museum no offence not my kinda thing. and a movie to me is more of a second date kinda thing especially because you cant talk really to someone in there. a drive wouldve been nice but there's really nothing special about it.

I was speaking more to that other person who insisted that there was nothing else that could be done in October. I would have no way of knowing if you personally were incapable of enjoying a museum. Isn’t that more fun than a mall? A little more educational also and it would kill at least an hour and admission to museums of natural history are generally free since you are low on money.

What about your date? Isn’t she more important anyway? What if she is bright and enjoys activities of that nature?

The closest museum to us is about 30-45 minutes away so that's a no. Plus, he was griping about spending 20 bucks for our lunch .. imagine what he would say if he had to pay for our tickets.

Because a drive to nowhere sounds SO much more exciting than walking around a mall...

i wouldn't have minded walking around the mall after lunch, window shopping and browsing.

besides, i'd like to think that i'd be more interested in getting to know my date and talk with him, rather than looking at the scenary.

it's not lame. there's a lot of girls out there that don't need fancy shmancy to be impressed and interested.

You are the woman. Eh, forget it. I have no more interest in this topic. I thought this was a hypothetical woman. noway If 4 hours walking around a mall is fun to you, then that is your prerogative. I certainly would be inclined to use my imagination and find something else more interesting and stimulating.

Papersmile has a point there. You could have split expenses. Museums are free most of the time or you make a donation to the Natural History Society. Besides, I never meant for this to turn into an argument and you told me to "shut up" for no reason.

Isn't getting to know each other the main thing? If they were able to do that while walking around the mall, is that such a bad thing?

I wasn't saying anything bad against the mall idea just wondered what happened to having a nice dinner.
