As for the OP, religion has shown us how really evil any kind of organization designed to help all of humanity can actually be when given the power over the masses.

At subconcious levels, it has given people the "right" to feel superior to others, a way of judging others without actually taking the blame for the judgement themselves, made people believe their personal beliefs are right for all and any who do not follow deserve scorn, shunning and in days gone by death, etc.....

Society has allowed "God-fearing" to be a positive remark and "non God-fearin" to be an insult or mark against someone.

My opinion of course as always.

Weak question.

Without religion there probably wouldn't be charity, (why would you want to help anyone? you'd be too busy surviving and defending yourself) and there would probably be no moral absolutes defining the difference between right and wrong, so we'd all be killing each other and/or women and children would be getting raped and/or beaten badly with no recourse. There would probably be total anarchy, no technology or advancement of medicine since everyone would be killing and stealing from each other, no science unless it was someone developing clever ways to save themself, the earth and this life would suck, just my opinion, but that's what I would call a decent contribution if there is any truth to it.

Are you crazy? On the contrary, more people have been raped, murdered, tortured and imprisoned in the NAME of organized religion than for any other reason on the face of the planet....ever. And science? Get serious. Religion has done more to suppress the course of scientific research and hinder its discoveries than anything else. As for charity? Ever heard of the Red Cross, son? That is a SECULAR charity that is world renown for its humanitarian aid and support efforts.

The question is: What good has the human mind done for this world?

I don't believe humans are doing any good in this world in the long term effect and believe we will destroy our own existence one day with our own actions.

We are as primitive as a ant colony (which is not really that primitive at all with a system we still don't fully understand), yet we tend to believe we are of a higher level that also believes that we have more priviliges and rights then any living existence on this world.

What we do to the planet for enjoyment and not for neccessities are horrible acts that will bite us in our ass eventually.

If every human mind doesn't change this mindset then the human race will eventually not exist in my opinion.

for all must pass thru the valley of the swimmers of the conscious minds floating on the seas, the fish in the fishbowl, the noah and his ark, man the highest beast of the fields, adom the stranger comes and takes tiny hands......
