I used to, as I was in a pretty one-sided relationship for a long time. But now that it is just me, no, I actually feel all right.

Caring and self-love mostly needs to come from within, but it is okay to accept a little affirmation and caring from those around us, especially if we never received it as children or suffered early trauma.

Not as gracefully as I'd like, I'm afraid. I must admit that it hurts to be informed someone you cared about can't feel empathy for your health worries or accepting of your forgiveness. ....Even if the choice made was necessary for my safety and self respect, yet painful to both. But, this is something I need to console myself regarding. I cannot expect it from another and, more importantly, do not. I feel sad because of the losses I've been through in life. Very, very sad. All the same, I am grateful I can begin to give genuine love without expectation. I want nothing right now. Not a relationship with them, or pretending they aren't mad, or sex they freely offered, as it would somehow cheapen the gift I give to myself. I give the love for myself. It makes me joyful to know I am capable of it and that I have not lived in vain. This was very difficult to say.
