 Do you "walk on eggshells" around any of your friends because a certain topic, question, or statement may set them off?

I have a friend that lost his wife of 35 years and just one year later lost his 28 year old son as well.
I have to be very careful not to speak of death around him.
Yes sometimes a comment about it can come up.

Nope. My friends are my friends because they all know that I am going to tell them exactly what I think.

Drago makes a very good point.

Whether from common decency or from respect for the comfort zones of most people there are some topics which I do not open up, or respond to.

But I do not see that as walking on eggshells.
Perhaps there is another term for it.

If it's a serious one, I crush the eggshells into a fine grain powder, mix in a little cement and hit them with it. Some of my friends need that to keep from doing terminally stupid things.

No I don't walk on egg shells, but if I know that there is something that might upset them, I am not going to deliberately do that.

Most of my life has been spent walking on eggshells for some reason.
