How long were u speaking to him before u gave him ur msngr addi??

Well messenger is no big deal cus I just put him on block...lol. Its the phone thing that was the most "oh my god, are you kidding?"

You might want to get a microphone and use the built in voip (Voice Over IP) feature, assuming it's yahoo messenger.

Yep...I've talked to a guy on here, even met him. Wow...what a mistake. He thinks he knows everything there is to know about everything...including what I was thinking....lmao @ him. And he NEVER shuts up.

I know he's met with a few other women on here...they've all blocked him too.

Well firstly, i havent gave out my personal addi to any guys online for a LONG time, and thats because my account was hacked.

I learned that unless u had spent quite a lot of time gettin to know someone thru a site, dont give ur addi out. Theres nothing u can say in msngr that u cant say here. Its a process...

Firstly, get to know in Pm, then, move from that to msngr...then, progress to cam chats, THEN, after a while, if ur comfortable, exchange numbers. It should be a process that takes time....if ya rush into these things, ya will attract all the jerks.

I don't use the messenger on here, it always lets viruses onto my computer. I gave him my least used messenger name, and then blocked him from it. Trust me, after talking to him for a little while you realize he's lucky to tie his shoes every morning...lol. I can't see him having the ability to hack.

I didnt mean msngr on here, i just meant private mail....

My point was u shouldnt rush into giving strangers ur private email address, and also never underestimate a scorned man.

laugh
I just can't assume that every person is bad and evil. I don't have it in me. I just can't see instant messaging someone as "rushing it"...lol, sorry. It would really suck if he happend to hack the email I don't use for anything but "screening" people, but I could just make another. That name has nothing to do with anything personal, so it really doesn't make much difference.

Normal? Sounds boring. On a positive note, he doesn't know where you live, right?

Well it would prob be easy to find out having her home phone number, hence why u shouldnt rush into these things without thinking.

up now, you have a good night." He practically stalks me on messenger for the next half hour and calls me over and over and over and over for about 2 hours. I answered once to tell him to stop calling, and he was freaking me out. So what does he do? Blocks his number when he calls again...lol, like I wouldnt' know who it was? Okay.. just thought it was slightly freaky and funny and thought I'd share my interesting Mingle encounter. Are there any normal people on here?

No, he doesn't.

I'm not 12 dear...lol, I know the "dangers of the internet". Life isn't worth living if ya don't take a chance on gettin to know people occasionally. I can't live my life all buttoned up and safe all the time, THAT is what is boring to me.

Whats the contradiction? I don't do things like you do? Your point being what? I took a chance...lol, it didn't work, end of story. I just thought it was funny is all.
NO, you were giving me "mom" advice. I'm not a child...lol, I can handle my own tyvm.

Right up until he shows up where you live with a shotgun or something.

Sorry Jayme. Giving out your home number ( or just forgetting to block it when you call ) is a good way to wind up with some extra breathing holes.

While it's true that people can't always think the worst of others, it's also true that you can't be gullible enough to always think the BEST of them.

There are some truly disturbed people out there.

The contradiction was...at the beginning of ur post, u said u knew the online dangers....then after that u said that not taking chances was boring.

I dont happen to think its funny that a guy who overreacts the way he had, has ur home phone number, its so easy to find out other information from that.

Either way, im sure u can handle ur own, was just giving my opinion on the matter.

This is why I usually go to Skype first before I allow my number to be given out.
Some people just don't take rejection well.

I can't afford skype...lol. I normally just block my number on the first call. Just a slip up and thats what it gets me...lol. I'll certainly not do that againlaugh

Skype is free to download and free to use between skype users.

Yep. My team members used to get together regularly and have chats on Skype.

Unfortunately, my mic quit working or I would still be doing that.

Your response on the issue suggests that you probably still are one, as this sort of behavior isn't really one to laugh at, at least when you get the full scope of it. That sort of behavior suggests a couple serious issues, or could merely be an attention game. On a not so laughable scale, one such 'laughable' person is stalking one of my employees again. There's nothing like a jealous wannabe boyfriend/stalker/abuser to liven things up here. Many employees get fired for things like that, inadvertantly giving the abuser what they want, but that's not me and there's these new and novel things calle CPOs, lawyers, and people with pretty shiny badges. If you want to know how sick a person like that can get, I'm quite sure there are many people here who could paint a not so pretty picture for you. I do realize, however that there are 2 things people can't be taught. Intelligence and experience.

Anyway, the subject of this post is absolutely why I rarely give out my number. If a guy is bugging me for my number right after we start chatting, it's probably not going to happen.

I am so amazed at how people jump on me when I was simply telling an amusing story that happened. Wow... okay...laugh

1. Nobody's coming to my door with a gun (and especially not driving that many miles to do)

2. I've never seen anyone else on this site get lectured as much as me.

3. I DO know the dangers of the internetlaugh, but I also refuse to live under a rock. I'm a damn good judge of character, the most this guy is capable is being annoying as hell (which stopped last night when he finally gave up calling)

And lastly... I've go to learn to not share anything with people on here, it always leads to me having to defend myself.laugh laugh

My response on the issue suggests that it wasn't anything to get freaked out about, just annoyed. If I thought the guy was a threat I would have called the cops. He was just a pest.

Sorry to hear this happened to you jaime. You need to practice caution in the future. There are many characters out there. Some elements out there are just plain dangerous. The risks are just too much. And you know we are not all like that. Ha ha ha! Some of us are worse! Ha ha ha! Be careful.

Well even though this thread took a turn for the worst, I thought it was pretty hilarious. Sometimes I don't understand people, why get so angry over something so small? Not once have I met some random chick and ended up dating her before we were friends and got to know each other first. If you don't know somebody how can you date them?
