This may not sound very romantic, but I had a great time when my date & I decided to go fishing. We packed a lunch and spent a very peaceful afternoon sitting on the river bank talking and fishing.

Its hard in the winter, unless you are avid skier. Movies, bowling, the local pool hall, dinner, Go visit a local historical place. Here where I live is the Neil Armstrong site. Its free. Summer is better, beaches, bike paths for long walks, ride your bike or roller blade and local festivals. Batting cages and putt putt, golf range, hit a bucket of balls, so what if you have never golfed before it could be fun. How about a picnic, take a fishing pole or a frisby. Shoot, have a picnic in the mall. Take a basket and a blanket and find a nice bench and people watch.
