watched on local news a week ago..statistics on body count(homicide) 37 / 18 / 17 ... Oakland / Chicago / Salinas...respectively per 100,000 people...for 2008 i could be a little off on the numbers..don't remember exaclty..but the order i do remember.. roco p.s. -- i think this crap will get worse...bad economy/unemployment/ discouraged workers..ect...unless of course the economy..among other things..gets better.. More proof to the fact that the west coast can aim better...Chicago seems to spray and pray, hitting innocents everytime they fire a shot. This doesn't happen in the west coast because you will be caught if an innocent becomes victim in a shooting, California cracked down on this in the late 90's in wake of the number of murders mainly in Oakland (this is also the time period I stayed in Oakland, gun shots was all you heard day in day out)...Chicago has crap police, just look at the number of solved murders per capita. |

i am not against guns at all in fact pro i just wish people would stop bein such ****os. Well that's ironic. It's all about escalation; cops carry guns; so crooks need to carry guns; which means civilians need to carry guns which means crooks need to carry bigger guns etc. It's a slippery slope. I'm from the UK however, where we are just beginning to see the results of the first level of escalation. It's not pretty. As I understand the 'right to bear' arms is so the American population can protect itself from a tyrannical government. A somewhat moot point now, as the American population over throwing their government is very very unlikely to happen. Ta, Chris. |

A great place to get economic advice, from a man you don't know in a shop, who tells you that you need to buy what he is selling. There is a lot of talk about what will be, and personally I don't think new currencies and a new world order will happen. You'd be as likely to see the protocols of the Elders of Zion being initiated, or the Bavarian Illuminati fighting it out with dolphins. |

Well maybe if they started raising the cost of bullets to say... $5000 a bullet, people would think twice before firing off a round...
guns don't kill people, itchy trigger happy arse's do... simple solution... raise the cost of bullets...  if somebody breaks in your house...shooting is justifiable... Check state and local laws because many times you can be held liable and charged for wounding or killing someone who breaks in... and then they or their family can sue you or your family in civil courts for monetary relief. |

Yea, It's some scarey sh!t alright, you can be in your house and a bullet come right in through a window or be on the street...guns aren't bad, just bad people.
Crack heads, gangs, drunk idiots sometimes "the good neighbors" need to unite and run those fools out! That's what I did a few years back. I was so fed up with being woke up in the middle of the night or "whenever" that I called the police "every time" they made a noise...finally "poof" they were gone.It finally came to an end,so far so good, anyway. All "those" houses are boarded up but that's not my problem..."homeowners" that rent to "these idiots" give "Section 8" a bad name, and make it hard for others. If and when things in my hood become unbearable, I'll either continue to stand my ground, (since I pay property tax's) or head for a more "liveable and/or "serene" place.

well i got slugs, 00buck shot, and birdshot whats the better choice lol. definately not bird shot, particularly #7 or #8 shot is just going to p!ss someone off and probably won't kill them and as a civilian your objective in shooting someone is to kill them. Don't maim, don't injure. shoot to kill and aim for the chest. Hitting them in the chest you're most likely to hit a vital organ like the lungs or heart and stop them. Shoot till the threat is gone If you're using a shotgun (and that one in your pic looks like a remmy 870 marine model, nice gun btw) I'd use #1 or #2 shot for defense. 0 or 00 is good but you're going to get a limited pattern and fewer pellets. I've seen the pattern a 00 round makes from 10 yards and it's about 4 inches around. If you use slightly smaller shot and put the open or imp cyl choke in your barrel you increase the size of your pattern and the number of pellets you put down range without giving up much "stopping power". Slugs is a less than optimal choice of round because you're far less likely to connect with a slug than a shot round. It looks like you have an 8 rd mag on that gun.. You might put a couple of slugs at the end of it but "lead off" with #1 or #2 high brass magnum rounds. Turkey shot is also popular amoungst gunnies with HD shotguns like yours. Hope this helps. |

I'm not as familiar with mossy's as remmy's but there should be an engraving somewhere on the barrel that will read either full, improved cylider, modified, or open. Your pattern will vary accordingly. It's probably modified or improved cylinder. Take it to the range and shoot some paper with it and see what the pattern looks like at different distances and how different loads vary to see what you're comfortable with and what you're not.
