...to eat garbage in order to subsist, what tasty morsels would you seek out from the nearest dumpster?

Been there, done that when I was homeless at 14-15 years old.

Screw all that...If I had too...I would just walk the back roads for road kill. If All I could find is a dog or a cat..Then, Chinese/Korean food it is! Yummy! (and yes, I have eaten dog and yes, it is good)

But, but...Little Bird...I was playing! Everyone knows that I only use tampons to play jokes on my friends!!!!

Well, OK...but I'm still not sure if I'd let you come over. I have a dog and three cats...laugh

in new orleans actually there is an element of street kids...or "gutter punks"as the locals call them that do exist this way...all day long ypou see them going up and down the street from trash can to trash can...its really kinda sad...from what i hear...pizza and french fries are amongst the most highly prized morsels.

In 1969, I was a runaway in N.O. I hooked up with a few others and we shared what we found.
You wouldn't believe how much food is wasted at the resturants on Bourbon Street. Most of what we ate hadn't even been touched.
For cigarette and booze money, we worked for $1.00 an hour passing out flyers for the resturants we were eating from.
We got by that way for 6 months until it got near Mardis Gras time and the Police made a big sweep and rounded us all up.

I'd hang out behind Taco Bell. I'm sure there are plenty of choice scraps and crunchies to be had there.
