I am wide awake, Have been for going on 36 hours. I need sleep, completely physically drained, but the mind's still running. any advice? I believe there's a version of Advil available that has a sleep aid added in to help you sleep. It's supposed to be non-addicting too. It might be a worthwhile step to take. |

I suffer from insomnia, if I didn't why would I still be on this forum... When I absolutely need sleep I usually drink two cups of sleepytime tea. I also have my fan in the bedroom on low. for some reason I can't sleep with total silence. This is how I have handled it for twenty years. It might work for you. Oh, no more red bull or mountain dew...

I don't take caffeine. It's actually been a problem since I was in the navy. 50 hrs and counting. At work, so it's not too bad right now that i'm awake.

Stop taking speed and go to sleep unless your in labor then keep it up..............

I think taking any speed would kill me at this point. So no worries on that.

do this about 40 times
you will either pass out or you will have a major headache ! |

Know what? that's a great idea, but......I don't feel too much like causing myself brain damage. Something tells me I need what mind I have left.

Not that they are always the best option, but I'd recommend seeing if a doctor will prescribe sleeping pills for you. 50 hours is a long time, and sleep deprivation can be dangerous--especially if you're working as part of a team. Prescription sleep aids seem to work better for me, with one or two exceptions. Lunesta, for example, put a nasty taste in my mouth that didn't rinse away and lasted for 2 days
I don't know what one of your doctors would say, but maybe it's worth a shot. They might take you seriously. |
