I compromised until I didn't know myself. I'd have to say having enough self-respect and self-confidence to not get caught up in "need them" mentality. I want to WANT someone...not 'need' them, if that makes sense. |

Communication. Honesty not about lying but about telling each other who we really are to get to know the real person your dealing with. Open and honest. Being on the same spiritual path.

it's best not to let yourself be put into that position ... When you compromise your " standards" or yourself for someone else all your doing is letting yourself down... been there done that... won't ever do it again.. and in the end... you lose..

Just being able to keep a relationship is hard enough without the other party getting all weird and suddenly wanting out for some nebulous reason. |
