Hi, a friend told me about this site, but she has never used the forums. I thought I would check it out. Seems to be a lot of support here. I am starting the New Year out alone as my husband told me on New Year's Eve that he thought it was over between us. He started the new year with an "out with the old and in with the new" lease on life! His life is moving on, I am on hold. Things look really down right now. So I know how a lot of you feel, but you just have to take it one day at a time, look forward, not back, and realize that you do not have to be in a relationship to be happy. Time heals all things. I am lucky to have a friend who helps me get through the days, and gives me pep talks, tells me I have to think of myself now, not what my soon to be ex is doing, because that is what depresses me. I hope everyone of you are blessed with friends like her. A girl needs all the friends she can get, because they are usually the ones that pull us out of that pity party we always seem to throw for ourselves. There is one thought I like to keep in the front of my mind, "God never takes anything away from you without replacing it with something better". We just have to be patient and BELIEVE IT WITH ALL OUR HEARTS! I look forward to making new friends. |

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Tell me how do you get your mind off things? Right now I am laid off work, have to live in my daughters basement, and have soooooooooooo much time on my hands. I have cleaned, cleaned, and cleaned some more but there are always those times in the evening when you realize just how quiet it is. That is when you feel so alone, so can anyone suggest anything? You can only watch so much TV, I have worked far too many Sudodu puzzles. Suggestions please.

That's a tough one. My new favorite quotation is -- When God closes a door he opens another one. But there's hell in the hallway. So hang in there until the other door opens.
You could go to the library and check out some books, organize your pictures, work on your family history, learn to crochet or knit. Of course, this is my third day of being iced in. I have all kinds of things I could be doing, but don't want to do any of them!!! But I think I'm gonna have to iron. |

Sad thing is there are those who have lived in that hallway so long they wouldn't be able to recognize when a door is being opened to them. Many times we fail to see what's right in front of us, yes? |

I have faith but I also know that it's up to me to recognize any blessings that may come my way and then act on them. Faith alone without some effort does us no good. |
