I think of it differently, for this country to be the best it can be we always ALWAYS need to have the full picture of not only our actions but those of others. Our country is not infallible and with leaders like Bush in office we are on the verge of being terrorists ourselves. The information is needed for people of this country to make valid decisions.

The way for us to be the best country we can be is not to put our heads in the sand or look at ourselves through rose colored glasses, we must see how all sides feel or see us so we can understand better and make better choices.

Basically what it comes down to is we are not perfect as people or country and we need to be learning so we can be improving.

I guess I see this from both points of view, but I can also see that Tanz has taken it a bit further than you have in some ways. Both of you are in "reaction mode" and I have been guilty of that myself when I get flustered and forget to BREATH.. grin.

I think Karmafury and Dragoness have done a very goot job of trying to stear this discussion back on track and maybe we can all stear it back better. Thomas, has very sucessfully caused a ruckus in here so maybe we can not follow the car in front to the wreck?

As for the banana's, yes I tend to agree that the posting of more than one icon is a bit over the top, but hey it's better than more agressive attempts to take someone down. Though I personally prefer not to go that route, I can't be sure where Tanz was coming from in doing that so I didn't much pay attention to that part.

Just another thought, good some times comes from bad things, and Thomas's post did bring out some excellent posts in response to being more open to all sides of an issue as in this thing with Israel and Palistinians. So for that I thank Thomas for making that possible. It was a pleasure reading what folks have added to this topic, aside from the fun and games that came with it.

I at least served my country quick and I would like to think I sacraficed some time of my life to actualy use the freedoms we have. If we cant or wont use them what purpose would these sacrafices by myself and many others serve? However I do not feel any modern wars have given anyone any freedoms do you? and if so why?
