As pointed out earlier.....who is the greater patriot ? He who would point out what's wrong and seek change or he who would follow his country into decay.

If I remember my history correctly the United States was founded by men who saw fault and a need for change. They even wrote the Constitution in such a way to continue to allow change and prevent too much power in any one position.

You have a great point. I do understand him though. Wouldn't you say that some of the latest posts did become too frequently a libeling kind, instead of the kind that politely raises a question if there is one to be raised?

You are what we call clinically a passive aggressive person..........listen at least Thomas has shown his true identity and I have to give him that and we all know it but you...........you are a wolf in sheeps clothing...........you are a follower and never a leader.........you dont have any true ideas of your own you just like to jump into a band wagon so you know what you are more threatening than Thomas because at least he is out in the open..........

Geez Tanz, even I am having a hard time here. Nogames hasn't done anything drastic, he came to the rescue of someone he thought was being ganged up on now he is the target? Maybe this might have gone a bit to far at this point?

I had your back when you corrected Thomas at the beginning but I am wondering where your going with this line of attack?

I think that those who wish to discuss various personal opinions of another, outside of the subject of the OP, should do so in PM and not in the thread about a specific subject. But then that's kust my own opinion.

He is quite aware of where we fell of the band wagon when he commented on somethings that really wasnt about him...........i dont know him so i dont know why he did it and he did it incognito so if you go back you can gather where I got that...........i might have read too much into it but I dont think that I have and really if I did then I would totally accept being at fault but I do know that I am not so I have to keep to what I am saying and he has insulted me ever since and Thomas even though I have been very harsh he has never retorted back and its his thread...............

The problem with Thomas, Nogames is that he never fosters respectful replies, because he attacks first, and then even after he never listens to what is actually said.

I agree that the conversation has degraded on the last page or so, but he started this conversation in a bad light and can't wonder why it got darker. I understand your wanting to defend him, but he can't attack us regularly and expect we will always just ignore him.

I am typically the lone warrior standing up to the far left in here.So it's not surprising to hear that I am not popular in in land of Obama worshiping,Anti Israel, and global warming as a religion in here. Not that it bothers me that much.Someone has to stand up for the good guys!
happy

Take it easy, bro:

I am not friend of Obama
I oppose environmentalism, and support warming the globe

But this has nothing to do that there is a state that I don't need, that didn't exist before bureaucrats created it.

I hate bureaucrats, so there, let's remove the disgusting creation of United Nations.

This is just one of the aspects of a man that i cant respect let alone be infiltrated with so whatever I have nothing to say but what I have and now trully now that I have went back to check I have no apologies for people like him but a prayer because they are going to live a life of great dissappointment..................

Yes, you're right.

More to your point:
What I see is that sometimes folks find those who point out what is wrong with the country, as hurting it, or hating it.

Logically, you are correct, but in practice, I have noticed that telling someone that this or that could or should be fixed, is like pointing out that the person is fat.

It creates downward protective reaction, insulting the message and/or the messenger as means of "keeping the face".

If there isn't any problem though, then wouldn't it be natural to fearlessly face the "accusation" and easily refute it?

This does indicate, that even the rejecting party, internally agrees with accusation, but is too weak to openly acknowledge the problem.

To use your 'fat person' analogy. This would depend on how it's done. Present facts about heart, respiratory, diabetic problems etc without saying 'fat' but say 'at risk of' instead. You have the person thinking about their own well being and improving it without flat out insulting them. Those who refuse to see what you present will run a risk of these or other problems and health will deteriorate.

Point out that a nation is slowly slipping, that errors made and being made need to be looked at and remedied. Someone who refuses to see that there is a problem will watch their nation decay. To show masses however the small clue doesn't work. Thus the outright showing of the problem.

What's with bananas...? Kind of childish, no?

Looks like that person is begging us to just start chanting things back and forth....

whoa

Hmmm, I think this is what Tanz was referring to with you Nogames. I have to say that I was a bit miffed with that myself. You start you dialog with her by calling her childish, kinda what Thomas did by starting the thread calling people here things that were not so.

Lets be really honest here, you men do have a tendency to be condescending, which you have to know gets under a woman's skin really fast, so it can't be a complete surprise if she goes off on you, and might not be prepared to stop?

I don't think I would agree with you all the time Nogames but I do like you because you responded to me with respect in another forum where you could have chosen to be flippant and argumentative, I respected that and I did my best to respond to you as respectfully as possible to try and find out what you really meant before making an assumption about you.

Now if Thomas would approach us in a more respectful way he might get the same in return...

You know what sucks about being fat. Is EVERYONE has the need to tell you your fat. I mean really WTF! Losing weight is freaking hard and there are no gyms in town (except for women's only clubs, we have 3!). RAWR

karmafury,

And now, I think you have eloquently laid out the jist of this whole question Thomas has raised.

"Present facts about heart, respiratory, diabetic problems etc without saying 'fat' but say 'at risk of' instead. You have the person thinking about their own well being and improving it without flat out insulting them. Those who refuse to see what you present will run a risk of these or other problems and health will deteriorate. "

This, actually, makes me find myself in agreement with both, you and Thomas. Because, what he was essentially trying to say (although not as clear), was that stop libeling posts that shout something. Discuss it.

Some of the posts were done as a proven fact. Like "America is guilty of this or that!". Well, why not say "This is what has been noticed, and do you think it helps America?".

Actually if you think about it the U.N. is just that.....a bureaucratic entity. It has no true power save that power allowed within the borders of a nation by that nation.

Case in point Peace Keepers are sent into a nation at the request of that nation.
Food Aid from the U.N. can be stopped and refused entry at border.

They only have the power that the member nations allow it to have and mutually agree to.

And I've lost 50 pounds in 4 years, and people are still saying "you know being fat is bad right?" and I'm like "f-you vegan jerks!"

Atleast I'm not super fat, like those you see on TV, i'm just a normal fat person with a belly and chicken legs. I may not be able to run for very long, but i can sprint like hell if i need too, and i could out bike anyone on anyday! So bring it on health nuts! RAWR

If the facts are there to back up a claim that America or any nation are guilty then so be it.
As I said though. When using a forum like this perhaps the idea is to cause you to 1. Read, 2. Seek to understand (check it out for yourself)

I have equally defended and opposed positions on American policy, ideals, ideas etc. I'm just not as loud about it.
