Topic: How do you know when you are free | |
---|---|
You are free when you have no worries about what happens to you. That sounds like freedom from worry. In that case, a person who is about to kill them self is free. In that case, a person who has lost all hope and cares not what happens to him is free. Does not sound like freedom to me, it sounds like hopelessness. I see how it was taken that way. ![]() |

Spirit is indeed a state of mind. an that "Abracadbra" is my point ..anyone can reach contentment just by believing or saying that they reached it... spiritual freedom doesn't exist beyond contentment... contentment is a frame of mind to accept that which one has no control over ...no control means no freedom ..spiritual or otherwise And this leads us deep into the philosophical jungle of freedom archetypes. The freedom to control. The freedom to accept. The freedom to post. The freedom to be. The freedom not to be. The freedom to list freedoms. The freedom to be enslaved. The freedom to work. The freedom to pay taxes. The freedom to fart. The freedom to walk away. "Abracadbra" the things you name are things you are allowed to do ...you are controlled by the laws of the outside forces ..which are the laws of physics/nature, the laws of society and the laws of a God (if you believe in one) and at an instant those forces can take away any or all those freedoms you believe you have ... as long as you are governed by these laws freedom or spiritual freedom is all just an illusion |

When I was married to my second husband I was not free. He was a bit of a neurotic control freak. He forbade me from keeping a bar of hand soap in the kitchen. He said I should go into the bathroom to wash my hands.
Yet when I cooked food I like to wash my hands before I handle food. Having to go into the bathroom was an inconvenience and sometimes it was in use. This kind of reasoning was rejected because it became all about control and about him being the boss of me because I was "his wife." This is just a tiny example of how people attempt exert control over others and over their spouses simply to give them the feeling of power. My spirit was shackled and my heart was sad in that kind of relationship. I had no power. No freedom. My creative power was sucked from me, I could not paint or be creative in any way because my heart was sad and in bondage. It was all about control on the psychological level. When I divorced him, I went from depressed to happy and free and I could feel the inner joy of my spirit DANCING. Here is some advice: Don't try to control someone else particularly your spouse or your love interest. If you do, you are like the vampire who sucks the life's blood out of them and you will kill the love and the joy of the relationship. Today, I keep a bar of hand soap in my kitchen. To me, it represents a tiny bit of freedom. |

How do you know personally when you are free spiritualy? Is it when you wake up everyday feeling good with yourself Is it when nothing bothers you anymore or you see everything as great instead of what is Is it when you can experience passion to help others in needs or is it a combination of many things. I would like to know what your personal philosophy of what freedom of spirituality means to you. True freedom will come when the curse of sin is lifted once & for all & God restores everything back to what it was before the fall. Until then, the sin nature will always wrestle against the spirit. |
