That could be taken one of two ways. If it was a guy friend you asked, then maybe he is interested in her and doesn't want to compete with you.
The second way could apply if your friend was a male or female, and that they just don't think you are good enough for her, and don't want to see her get hurt by you. Not trying to be mean, just being real. |

it was a female friend I just asked if her one friend might ever consider me and she said no. I said why am I not up to her standards and she got all defensive saying because I do not smoke drink club or have lots of sex that the girl would never like me
