Well thoughts Glenn and attacking someone are two different things I
think...I see debate as giving one's opinions with good sound
reasoning....I see attacks as mud-slinging with the intent to either
hurt or anger someone!!!!!!!!

Yes I have a problem with "bait" threads that are only put up to cause
trouble but I simply stay out of them!!!!!!!!!!!

i for one will admit im not always right..... and sometimes i need to
learn and listen to others when i dought myself... so i can make my own
decision from there.... rather it be right to another or wrong... at
least i feel better that i tried to understand... and have a open mind
to change somethings about myself.... and i always will cause im not
always right and certainly admit that.....

Well I also think we need to remember that disagreeing and shoving your
own opinions down someone's throat are two different things too.

I don't have to be right in order to have my opinion and I don't expect
anyone else to agree or have the same opinion as me...However I can and
will understand and listen to arguments based on sound reasoning and may
change my opinion based on information that I wasn't aware of!!!!!!!!!!!

However in cases where I don't change my opinion I don't accuse anyone
of being wrong because they are fully entitled to disagree with me and
have their own opinion too regardless of the issue!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just had to say, If you read my original post on this thread, I did
say a debate should be respectful. I never advocated attacking anyone.

Oh I didnt think you were disagreeing Glen...I just think myself there
is a difference in addressing someone during a debate and attacking

Saying this, we should remember to not attack each other
personally.(asshole) If we can all keep an open mind, and be willing to
learn from each other,(no matter how stupid they are) I think
arguements, even heated ones are good.(ah,, STFU) We should remember to
approach controversy with the hope, and attitude of learning where the
other person, or persons, are coming from.(and if you dont agree with
me,,STFU again)I try to go into every arguement with an open mind. If
your arguement makes more sense, I can change my mind, but it has to
make sense, and with me that may not be an easy task. Sometimes....,OK
all the time, I can be hard headed, and a little blunt, and I dont like
to apologize...Da Dum!!!

Some people enjoy heated debates. Other people are upset by them.

If you see a thread that upsets you, leave it and read something else.

I suspect with the flavour of this site, there is a high level of
tolerance and patience for all the varying personalities, opinions and
beliefs.

It feels that between Mike and Van, (and I am not sure if you have
moderators as well, besides them), that if there were threads created
with no other reason than to goad, insult, or inflame another, they
would be removed, or Mike or Van would post in them explaining the
guidelines of posting...

Even in the short time I have been here, I have seen so much tolerance
and objectivity, and most of all, respect for the individuality of all.
