I would get it checked out if you haven't already. Heat is the only thing that works for my back pain.

Have you tried a massage therapist?? They can help sometimes. Physical therapy too. Try alternating hot and cold, 20 minutes at a time to help with the pain, they swear it helps. Acupuncture is supposed to help with back pain too, some people swear by it.

How about soaking in a hot tub?? May be hard to get out of the tub with a painful back though.

Take care of yourself, sorry you are hurting.

Think you better go to your doctor and see what they can do for you. Feel better.

Ouch...I hope you feel better soon. My suggestion would also be either a massage or a doctor.

Omega-3... been shown to suppress the production of inflammatory compounds, I swear by it

soothing hot oil message... relax your muscles which in turn well help with pain

Good posture... depending where the pinch is, duh err

Pretty much need pain meds and anti-inflammatories those suck

I had a pinched nerve a couple months back. I went to my chiropractors. Was better almost immediately.

I can feel your pain...

A certified deep/medical massage therapist would be an excellent idea...

sometimes muscle relaxers can help as well...

non-steroidal anti-imflamatory meds like ibuprophen might be helpful...I doubt asprin or tylenol would do much for you at all..

Now, as strange as this sounds, it works for me to use ice on my lower back...and then sometimes I will rotate the heat and ice...the thing is, try to do NO more than 20 minutes of either at a time...

also, when you use heat, use 'wet' heat...take a small towel and put it in a baggie and then microwave it for about 45 seconds...the wet heat penetrates into the deeper tissue rather than just the top tissues...

same with cold...use a water bottle filled with ice water...

make sure to put a barrier between your skin and the heat or cold..if you use it for more than 20 minutes, you may actually do superficial damage to your tissues...

REST REST REST REST

no lifting, sweeping, shoveling...you get the idea...

I have a multitude of back issues which are different than yours are...

I do not know your issues so I am not giving any medical advice here...

Please get checked out by your personal health care provider...

I hope you feel better soon...

I could walk on your back.

Don't know if it would help or not but....

I'd get some fun out of it!

J/K. I hope you get to feeling better. And seeing a Doctor about it probably isn't such a bad idea.

And you thought it would be fun to do those crazy sex positions pictured in the book.noway There is a fine print that you forgot to read that says warning: do not attempt if you are old!!! bigsmile  flowerforyou

To relieve the pressure on your back:

Use a pool to float around in - relieves the pressure on your spine, since you are somewhat weightless.

Lie on your back on the floor with your butt against a chair or couch... rest your legs (calves) on the chair (like an astronaut)... Do this with or (preferably without) a pillow... it's ok to use a rug or blanket spread out flat... but the idea is to take the pressure off your backbone... and disks.

Chances are that if you hurt that badly, you did some damage or at least inflamed some muscles and or tendons...

Realistically, if you are in a lot of pain, it's best to have it checked out. I let mine go too long and now have permanent nerve damage down the outer side of my entire left leg. So, I can have fire ants on me and not know they are there unless they move to the inner side of my leg... not a good thing, trust me.

Also, alternating moist heat and ice in 20 minute intervals can give some relief, but it is best to have it x-rayed if you are in severe chronic pain. Pain is the body's signal that something is wrong ... not normal. Good luck and health to you... I have lived with back and neck problems for a good part of my life... back pain can really take the wind out of your sails.

When my back hurts it's usually my sciatic nerve I get someone to pullon my ankles, or I hang upside down on an inversion table...it takes the pressure off the disc and lets the nerve become un-compressed...I know when I'm in that kinda pain I'll try anything...Nerve pain is the worst....Also I'll pray for you! Sorry for your painflowerforyou
