Jesus Told us to go unto the world.

MARK 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

That is true. And some will accept you and some will reject you but the same could be said of him. And it is actually him that they do reject when they don't accept you. The gospel is translated to the good news but some can't accept it as good news. To some any news is bad news.

Hi, Allen. Something that I was thinking about was in the Old Testament on how they thought they needed a King. As I remember God didn't think they needed a King but went along with it. Just like God really didn't condone King David's romance with his wife or King Salomon's choice of wives. I took a New Testament course in college. Then God gave his only son only to have a label on his cross as King of the Jews. But later we find out that he gets a new label as King of Kings. We find that in the Old Testament that God's spirit will not always strive with man and in the New Testament that you are suppose to shake the dirt off your feet when you are not accepted. I mean how can one think that God doesn't care. He has tried with his chosen people and to others. Even Jesus said I must be about my father's business. When we accept Christ through our personal choices as Christians we are doing the will of the father as Jesus did.

I've been deeply convicted lately to study much harder on God's word. The emotions that result have been enough to just bring me to my knees so many times lately that I'm getting extra thick callouses at the knee caps... Glory pads???

Sometimes the lessons in the OT, as well as NT lessons are hard for me to understand and internalize alone here... Like I am...
It seems difficult sometimes to not let my mind wander off on tangeants and become distracted before really absorbing the whole message.frustrated ohwell

Do you think she was just trying to bait Christians into a trap to make fools of them?

I took a look at that thread, Allen. It reminded me of the verse of I send you as sheep among wolves. If I couldn't take my scriptures with me so speak then I wouldn't feel welcomed. I love the scriptures as they have helped me greatly. To dis my scriptures would be to dis me. I wouldn't want to venture out without be spiritually fit. As Romans says to take on the whole armor of God. To me it would be saying I like cats but I don't like their claws.laugh

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you" (Matt. 7:7).

This is the one scripture I was thinking of.

That is a good scripture, Allen. See when I was looking at that thread I must have been thinking of Ephesians 6:12; Hence the cat reference and claws because I would want to wrestle with them and that would be the wrong spirit for me. I say that because I can easy forget that I am wrestling with what Ephesians 6:12 says. I would rather be in here with other Christians at this time.

Belonging to a church is very important as they will be there when you are week. I can’t say enough for fellowship it is a needed thing we have to have when were serving Him. It always helps to have a brother or sister there to help you along.

1JOHN 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

I agree because of the scripture of where two or three are gathered together in my name and the scripture of if I be lifted up I will draw all men to me. I must decrease so that he will decrease comes to me, too. It works better whether I am testifying for church reasons, Twelve stepping for AA or NA reasons or even in my job at the nursing home. Or otherwise because of my ego I will be like the apostle who cut off the man's ear and Jesus had to step in and put it back on. As you say walk in the light. Not my will but his be done.

I messed that one scripture up. I must decrease so that he will increase. Zeal can be easy for me at times.

I really like this thread and thanks for making it. Another verse I like which I think that goes along with venturing out is the one about returning good for evil. To me evil exists; The Devil exists; God exists and sin exists. To an unbeliever these things might not exist. At my job and my dealings with others if I can't say I am sorry or as the Bible says I repent then I am in trouble. For me returning evil for evil only escalates evil. I always want to cognizant of the love chapters in Corinthians. To me God is love and that is backed up by John 3:16. Lately, I have had to relearn turning the other cheek.

How true as a matter of fact I can count on one hand the people that agree with me.
