Yes, they should go in the General Religion section.

Shouldn't these go in the religion section? This is the general discussion area, and not the pray for everyone section. I don't want to put everyones panties in a bunch, I just feel it would be more suited to the general religion section. Okay to answer this question that in fact has been talked about within depth among other Mods and Admin themselves. We in fact do not believe they should be put into the Religion threads if so then say for those that do not believe in prayer instead use the words of well wishes or good thoughts. Even though in reality they basically mean the same thing where would those go? We could not in fact move them to the Religion Forums due to they may in fact not be someone that is in any type of religion. Actually Prayer, Well Wishes or Good Thoughts threads are what we actually consider iffy threads and have more then one area they could actually belong in. Due to this fact we leave them in the General Area. Most of these threads do in fact let you know by the heading what is inside and therefore if they are a subject you wish to by pass it can easily be done. But.........now with that said we have in fact brought this up to Admin and have requested that a new forum be started labeled as "Prayers, Well Wishes & Good Thoughts" or something similar to that. In order to actually have a place for these types of threads to be placed. And in fact have asked for some forums to be changed or new ones added. At this time they are considering our request as well as many request that have been requested by the members. If I'm correct after the New Year they will in fact be adding some new features as well as fulfilling some of the request that will in fact solve where some threads are to be placed. If you really think about it there are a lot of questions that are in General that in fact would go under the heading as Dating. We do have a forum that is listed as Sex & Dating but we do not move those threads either due to the fact if they go in that forum it seems what was a innocent question in fact gets turned sexually or there are those that will not go in the the Sex & Dating threads. So we choose to leave those in fact in General as well. And yes one of the request is to change that forum to Sex & Advice and Dating Advice and Situations or something similar but to divide the two from each other. So at this time they will be left within General and everyone will just have to bear with the situation until Admin has time to create new Forums in order to put subjects in a category that actually fits them best. The ones that actually do get moved have a specific area for them to be in without a question. Any time a question in fact can be placed in one or more areas they can then be left within the general area. |

the religious threads are so horrible no one wants to post in there unless they're a fanatic....i suggest if you want to discuss religion , do it with your own REAL congregation. you will have a much more christian experience in reality than you will ever get in here.

i once posted about faulty furniture from ikea and because it had my sister's kid in the story.. they moved it to the parenting thread even though it had nothing to do with parenting. it made no sense to me. but i see these other threads ... and they don't get moved. where's the equality in that? Well in fact the thread your referring too was about a changing table that hung on a wall ( that is used to change a baby on) that in fact fell when being used. Correct me if I'm wrong. It was moved to parenting due to this is something only those with kids in fact would be able to relate to best. And in fact may warn those with little ones of and issue that could be very serious. It in fact did deal with issues or problems that goes along with parenting now does it make sense why it was in fact moved? Hope that helps let you know why it in fact was moved to the area it was. |

On another site I belong to they have it broken down like this:
Dating General...anything about dating. Relationships... Sex & Dating... Sex & Dating Chat...this is the home for all the beloved "Above me/Below me" threads, etc... General Discussion...everything else that's left over to talk about... Plus the Religion, Politics & Current Events, Writing, Music & Art, etc... I'm a techno-tard, but I guess it all depends on how much room & how many categories a site can handle...??? |

Thank you txsgal. I was hoping you would respond. Your more then welcome and I do see your thoughts of the situation but I just don't believe the Religion Forums are the best place for such threads due to there are so many of them they actually warrant a Forum of there own. Recently they did make some changes twice within adding new forums and new features as well. They are adding things a little as they go to make sure that they can in fact deal with the issues that new features entail and be able to correct them before adding or changing other things. More or less they are in fact changing or adding the features based on what is the most important first. But in fact the question you have asked is on the list to in fact have a specific place for these type of threads to be placed. We just have to wait to see if in fact it will be one of the changes we receive on the next upgrade that Admin have in store for the site. |

The Christians have also been given their own forum so there is really no excuse for it. As well as other religions and none religion have been given their own Forums. In fact the forums you will automatically see will in fact curtail to what you in fact have based your religion preference on when you signed up with the site. The Mods in fact see all the Forums that are now under the Religion Heading in fact there are like 6 different areas there now dividing each Religion Christian,Jewish, Hindu, Atheist and a few more. Due to the fact they were all basically curtailed in one area now you have the option to in fact go into the Forum with others that in fact have the same beliefs as you do. The General Religion forum is in fact for those that want to ask questions about others beliefs or to debate for answers. In fact each forum within that area has specific rules now and if another goes within only to argue with them on their religion they will in fact have their responses deleted and warned those specific areas are not for others to go in and criticize them on what they believe or debate with them on what they believe. Those areas are for each to share the same beliefs with each other. |

I realize that others have their own religious forums also. However the Christians have theirs. I was under the impression that if someone wants to create a thread that is solely a request for prayer or some other praise of Jesus Christ, then the Christian forum would be the ideal forum to post a thread of this nature as it is not asking for debate of any kind. |

I think the straight up asking for "prayers" should go in the religion section.
The ones that start out saying someone was hurt or needing our strength as friends are ok in general so we can be their for our friends. Myself I don't have my list edited & don't even go into the lower sections hardly ever. |

I nor any of the Mods expects everyone to agree with the decisions or the choices we make for there will always be questions of why we came to that conclusion. All we can offer is and explanation of why in fact we decided to do what we did and hope within that explanation that others can in fact see why we felt it belonged where we actually moved it too. At any time we welcome any of the members to question our actions we may in fact refer it to Charles to look into and answer if it is in fact based on a Mods actions as far as towards a specific member. But as far as explaining why a thread was moved to a certain area when in fact it was placed in General instead. Most of the times those threads are in fact moved from General are due to there are specific areas for those to be as far as what the subject within is based on. But many will put them in General due to the fact that more actually read the General Forums instead of venturing off into the other areas. Or they will put them in General due to they normally do not go into the other areas so they post it in General instead. |

HAHAHAHA!!! the freakin responses... hahahahahah!!!! heh. oh goodness. thats awesome. but yeah.. seriously.. why isnt there a religious section? There is .. but I for one don't ever look in religion (and I'm a Christian) so if they aren't here I would never see them .. and a lot of us would like to pray for someone that's hurting. Just a thought. Since when did asking for prayer for something become a 'religion' issue anyway? Funny when people are down they suddenly want prayer .. You know the saying .. There are no atheists in foxholes |

Myself I don't have my list edited & don't even go into the lower sections hardly ever. But basically they are all asking for the same thing our thoughts and strength or prayers that things will get better therefore just because the wording is different and one says prayers instead of well wishing or good thoughts or even get well why should one have to be moved and the others in fact remain? This is why it has been requested that a forum for "Prayers, Well Wishes & Get Well Thoughts" have been asked for in order to put all of these that basically are asking for our support in one way or the other to have a specific Forum in order for these type of threads to be placed within. |

I realize you are attempting to answer as diplomatically as possible and not upset anyone. However, why even bother to give the Christians their own forum if they will still just be allowed to post willy nilly in General areas? Cant a foot be put down? Clearly there is a difference between a request for prayer and a secular good wishes thread. The word Prayer will most likely denote Christianity and one would only need to read what the person is asking for if there is any doubt. Why bother giving them their own forum to post Christian related topics when they wont be asked to post these threads there anyway? |
