When meeting someone for the first time would you have your friends there or meet one on one and why?

Friends or no friends, having them there when meeting someone for the first time would make me feel a little insecure like I couldn't handle it without someone there. Meeting one on one is the way to go and best way to get to know that person the way you want to and not the way your friends want you to.

If you need friends there, then clearly you don't know the person enough to feel comfortable. Isn't it uncomfortable enough meeting one person for the first time much less all the friends as well???

One on one, meeting in a very public place and both of us leaving in separate cars.

I would prefer meeting one on one. I'm not in high school anymore. I don't need my buddies around to make me feel comfortable on a date.

one on one preferrably.

once i took my friends and he brought his friends and my friend got into it with his friend and it killed the whole night. :(

but i will have a friend go with me and meet me somewhere later or be on standby just in case the dude tries to kill me

The only one date I have been on was a one on one. I think it is better that way.

One on one, want to give all my attention to her and I would prefer no distractions from friends.

It depends upon how we met, how serious we are and assorted other factors.

If I am meeting a friend of one of my friends for the first time I would prefer to keep it casual with a group.

If I am going out on a first date with someone I know socially, I would rather it be just the two of us so we can concentrate on each other.

I would prefer doing one on one for several reasons. One biggie is, I did have first meet last year with someone that I invited to a BBQ... clam and crab bake. Several of my friends were there, well lo and behold he was not what he portrayed himself to be. About 60 pounds heavier, 20 years older than his pictures proclaimed and he also needed a shower pretty desperately.

Beside that a first meet is just that, when I meet someone for the first time it is to put a face with the person I have been talking to via phone. Also to see if there is something there to go any further.

It would just be myself and my attorney.

In my defense, I HAD take a shower earlier that month. Why are you so picky?

probably not because it could be awkward, but I would absolutely make sure it was a meet (dont get picked up at your own home) and in a public place because you never know how nutters the person may be

Prefer one on one...Of course we would have talked for awhile on the phone before meeting. Friends mean well but sometimes get in the way. laugh
