Topic: Sheesh, Does Any Guy Read Profiles?

I really think a lot of them don't ... mine CLEARLY states that I am taken yet I get emails on a daily basis I think the majority of women on here have this happen too. It's an epidemic.

But I've received abuse and lack of common sense and lack of intellegence in emails to my real profile also. That's why I made my profile as user freindly as possible. As for other peoples profiles? Sometimes you can learn a lot. Sometimes not enough. You definitely get predisposed impressions immediately if you would like to get to know them or stay as far away from their crazy, drunken, neurotic, insecure, bi polar, crack smoking ass as possible. After a while it becomes easier to determine if they are simple, or complicated. It becomes easier to determine if they are selfish, or selfless. It becomes easier to determine if they are nice, or mean. It becomes easier to determine if they are honest, or dishonest. I guess the only point I would try to make out of this is to take it a little lighter- for its an internet dating site. If you take it as serious as a wet fart in church you may have to change your expectations because people are going to be people. And if you think you are going to change 50,000+ members actions on an internet dating site- well I've got some prime swamp real estate I'd like to sell you.

As for the fake womans profile. Creepy? Maybe. But 15 months ago they had limited capabilities on the site. And they needed bait for some real outlandish sexual predators that would get on the site and stalk, harass, send pornographic images, and insult and degrade women. We would bait them with the fake profile and knock them off. Its no longer needed for we have a great moderation system in place and great moderators, that I respect, to solve problems. I feel this is still the best free site there is. Just have to check your expectations and have patience.

I, for one, do not believe anyone should be subjected to abuse. Unless of course they say "Pretty please with lots of sugar on top". Always remember- begging for abuse with blanket statements, generalizations, lack of common sense behavior, asking for advice while brain in in the close minded seat foreward and in the upright position, and constantly commenting critical in a negative, pessimistic, angry stance really shows your intellegence also.

Perhaps she didn't mean to offend anyone, but perhaps she could've chosen her words a bit more carefully, too. O.K., I'll walk on eggs next time and hope you don't become offended. I do note the folks that become offended never show themselves but post a thing of a picture. Oh! Chose every noun, adjective, verb carefully, Excuse moi. Oh! no French. You didn't use an acute "e". Shame on you.

Lex, don't you offer a class on profile/bios? As for the rest of this stuff, I like being lumped in with the "all guys" subjects. It's kinda like that "Lowered Expectations" thing that was on one of the weekend comedy(?) shows. Makes me shine! What were we talkin' about? Someone steal this thread! Please!

Hmm well, my profile is a couple paragraphs but it's not a book. I always read peoples profiles though and will often touch on certain points in them (especially if they have things in common with myself). I think the problem isn't so much with us forum goers but the people that just hop on the site and are only here to try and get laid or something.

Ya know...I don't get all these abusive emails that I hear about. I try to respond to all of my emails at least once cuz I figure alot of guys have it tough out in the dating world...whether online or off. If I was stuck on myself so bad that I'd turn my nose up at every guy without a fishing license(in my profile)I would be lonely and bitter indeed. Screw that....

We have joked about many profiles out there. I used to have one that was just ridiculous. Basically a word play on bad profiles. But people have to learn on their own. They have to discover on their own that you need to attract people to you with your personality and not your abs and cleavage. And not repel them with a profile that screams "RUN AWAY!!!" I still get a kick out of people who put threats or ultimatums on their profiles and expect anyone to take interest in them....."I have 3 children and if you don't like it you can move on, jump off a cliff, cut your head off, die, or fck off!!!" Hmmmmmmm, desirable. NOT! "I have 2 cats and a dog. If you don't like it you can move on, jump off a cliff, cut your head off, die, or fck off!!!" yay! My type of gal! Feisty! "I'm coming out of a bad relationship and if you don't like it......well you get the idea.

As for profiles?......let me start by saying I had a second fake profile impersonating a woman for awhile. Why? I wanted to see what you women experienced on here regarding messaging. And I was shocked and dismayed at many mens behavior. I was actually surprised that many of you women stayed on here after being subjected to such critical and blatant abuse. Medicinal purposes only, huh?

And how about those people who never make it to the forums with their "Feel sorry for me" solicitations of pity and pining for empathy? They just put it right in their profiles! Not very becoming or attractive I feel.
