When you realize you are not just single,but truly alone. I drove myself to the ER Monday & back home. No one to call except work, no one to list as an emergency number,although they won't stop asking. No one to let the dog out if I was admitted. No one who would really notice if I disapeared. Ah, now that is the worst. I know the feeling. No one notices if I dissappear. I've done it just so see if anyone cared. And no one even noticed I was gone for 7 months. That is really, truly, alone. |

Yeah, I think it hit me when I had no one to list on my emergency numbers other than my daughters. Coupla months ago I had a bad M/C wreck way out in the middle of nowhere. Had no one to call so I tried to ride back: had another wreck on the way back from that one. Still no one to call . . . and had to treat my own burns and such for 3 weeks. Kinda sinks in. Builds character tho. Crap! |

I'm there too. I'm about a month away from being laid off. Which is likely to lead to losing my house, car, motorcycle, and have to file for bankruptcy... nowhere to go, no one to stay with. Make you feel warm and fuzzy inside... or that could be the whiskey. |

I gotta say.. its seems some people not only are single, but have no family or friends either... I guess maybe that's why I don't think it's so bad being single, because I have family and friends.. but for someone to be so alone that they think if something was to happen and no one would notice is terrible... Maybe finding someone for a relationship isn't the ultimate answer.. the problem isn't just being single.. what about meeting friends? friends won't split up with you or leave.. you can depend on friends...

I was thinking the same thing. I have lots of family and friends around. I don't mind being single right now. I think I'll have to agree with Lilith and say that not enough kissing is one of the worst things about being single. |
