How much do they influence you when someone sends you an email?
I never really thought about it much, except for the overly sexual screen names. But I just had an email from someone that I immediately didn't trust. And I realized it was all because of his choice for his screen name. And it wasn't sexual at all. It made me wonder how much it influences other people. |

Some names do make me think twice before contacting/responding to them. As you said, some of the overtly sexual ones get ignored or reported (depending how bad it is). If one just strikes me the wrong way I tend to wait and see what they are like, if they post in the forums. Could be just an old nickname or a lack of originality.

It gave the impression that the person was involved in something illegal. It really rubbed me the wrong way.
