Topic: Be aware of scammers

Dating sites have rules now how do we get the scammers off. The site says that not to send money to anyone and no one is allowed to ask for money on the site. They contact you through the first site give you a secondary contact email address. They write you and tell you how much your profile attracted their attention.

I have been contacted by at least four women from other sites saying that would like to meet me. I have offered to purchase their plane ticket for them but they insist that you just send them money because it would be easier for them to take care of travel arrangements.

Here is the question/problem. If the woman first contacts you in here and then asks you to contact them through either email or phone are they violating the terms of this site if they ask you for money so forth through the other contact method.

When and if we catch them at this they get banned from the site. One problem is that they somehow sign back up again under another id and they do it all over again.

How could we develop a method of sign up that would be able to flag that a person is signing up under a different m.o

Women from Ukraine, Russia and South Africa are the most common.
Fortunately I have not lost any money.

no clue how to stop them from signin back up but if you talk to them through this site and tell them to meet you in the forums you can almost bet they are for real. be careful about pics and profiles that look or sound fake.

1) dont offer money

2) dont offer plane tickets unless you have talked to this person for a very long time.

3) talk on the phone

4) Use ya head????

5) webcam if you have to

And yes they just sign back up under a different account......not sure if they ban IP #'s here.

The moderators of the site could easily IP ban someone from accessing the network. Develop a mutual relationship with someone before any money is evolved. One example of my dating method is that I don't pay for her on the dates. I don't think men should have to feel that obligation. Now, if it's the 3rd-4th date then I might.

But as far as scamming/scammers its just like Spam in your email. You just don't send that much money to someone. I have to meet a woman out there with a first encounter, saying -I love you, I want to see you, meet me here meet me there right off the getup.

Besides, how do you know if they really are woman in the first place. Haven't you thought that it was man running the scheme in the first place?

You assume a lot and went way off topic where this was about scams. I am also out way more then any 20,30,40 year old and this is being modest to say the least. I've lived in over 16 countries and have served in the military. So, I don't think I am "hooked to a machine"

Your just barking up the wrong tree when you go around falsly saying things. slaphead

simple do not offer off site info till you build a re pour with them

take your anything worth doing is worth doing right

and anyone worth meeting is worth getting to know a lil better first (if they are truly interested and worth having they will want to do it right as well)

if they are a scammer they will not stick around long

not rocket science

just a thought

but hey

what do i know

Once you are dumb enough to talk with them off site, there's nothing from there I think can be of help on here. But, I've reported many a scammer from right on here and they look into it and make them go away.
Any time men ask for money, say you are their wet dream come true.... I mean, it ain't rocket science!!!!

Hmmmm, I have IM'd with someone who prefered Yahoo than the IM here. Not a scammer, heck she is within driving distance too.
I have never been asked by anyone here for money or plane tickets. Lucky Me. happy
Generally if she is a really hot 20 something contacting me I am suspect. grumble

I want to buy a Russian nuclear scientist from the former USSR. I will pay for her transport and then give her a cot to sleep on. I dont need to marry her but I want to have her construct a cyclotron in my garage. Then we can discuss a Lesbian union of sorts. Im sure she will grow to love me. Bwahahahah (insert evil laughter here) huh laugh happy

First off, if anyone ever tells you they loved your profile...Ask them WHAT ABOUT your profile did they like.

Never offer to spend any money on a womans plane ticket. That is absurd! Especially if she contacted you first. If she is contacting a man who lives far from her, then she should be prepared for what comes.

There were a million red flags in your post. Just like there are millions of impoverished people throughout the world looking for some sucker.

Good Luck to you.

This is a friendly reminder to all that anytime you feel that you have in fact been contacted by a scammer the site request that you in fact use the abuse report features that are in place within the site.

If you look to the right when you pull up a members profile you will see report this user click on that and it will take you to a screen in order to choose the reasons you are in fact reporting them and to add any extra you would like to. This in fact goes straight to the Admin which they will look into the issue. If in fact they determine they are here for such reasons their profiles will be banned and deactivated.

There is also within your e-mail if they in fact e-mail you that you can scroll down to the bottom of your e-mail and you will find a link that says report this e-mail user which that will go straight to Admin as well.

This site does not allow scammers and will in fact deal with them as soon as they are made aware of the issue.

But unless members report such actions then it is harder for some of them to be detected. Therefore we do ask that you take the correct procedures that are before you within the system in order for the site Admin to keep this site as free from scammers as possible.

The site would prefer that each member utilizes the system in place in order to deal with those issues.

Moderaters on this site do not deal with the issues of scammers. This is the reason we ask that you use the report system that way Admin will receive the information directly and deal with the issue as needed.

With that said this topic is being locked for according to the site rules issues of this nature should not be posted on the threads but instead should be directed to Admin or a Mod in order for them to pass on the information.

Thank You
Site Mod
