The weatherman says there was a low of minus 30 today. That temperature MUST have dropped to the 40s. Because I just completed a 20 block hike and I've never been so cold in my life. And I'm from Canada.

I guess I could have dressed warmer. I wasn't willing to wait an hour for the bus so I walked back too...and as I neared home, my knee joints began to burn they were so cold. Now they're just red and itch. Stupid me, I hope my arthritis doesn't flare up.

The kicker is that I did it all for a stupid evergy drink...which actually froze one the walk home so I can't enjoy it.

The fruits of my labors is all grey and moldy.sad

In Dallas, we're supposed to get to the 40's tomorrow. I would have thought it would be much colder where you are for this time of year.

Nope, due to global warming, Canada has become far more temperate than it was in the past.

When I was a kid, it would get like this and stay like this all winter, usually starting in September. Now it rarely snows before November (this year our first real snow was December), and the winter days are commonly less cold than they were when I was young. And it can be minus 40 one day, and literally switch to zero the next day, then go back to minus 40 a day after that. Lousy global warming.

Even back in those days, it was rare to get worse than that...Nothing compares to Siberia and the North and South Pole, where its frequently minus 50. I think the temperature at which metal becomes brittle is something like minus 55. Glad I don't live in those places.

*whew* I can feel my fingers again!

It was BEAUTIFUL TODAY!!! It's so odd when it flip flops on us!!! No wonder people get sick so much during this time of year.
