This only takes a few minutes and I think you'll think 'it's worth
it'.....if you don't have a tear to shed you might not want to see
this...very moving.

You know, for the most part it was very much about the love shared
between the teacher and the boy.

But at one moment there was anger.

How could the father ignore his son?

That’s the part that is so unforgivable.

I could never neglect my child like that. I’ve never even had
children, yet I know that I could never do that. Never at any point in
my life.

Yet parents neglect their children every day. It’s totally unfathomable
to me. Especially when both of the parents are still alive and healthy.
It’s too common a thing today. Poor parenting is far too common, even
among many parents who are actually still living together. They are so
into themselves that their kids are almost like baggage to them!

Why do those kind of people even have children?

It so sad.

Although it was fictional, and not knowing that at the time; I was chest
heaving and tears were falling down my face. How moving that was. I
thank you, I think. Yes...I thank you for making me remember what
humanity is.

It was (is) a wonderful moving story.

OMG!!!!! That was beautiful...BUT I don't look at the sadness in it...I
see the hope and the difference that one can make in another's life just
by encouraging them and showing them just how special they are!!!!!!!

“sad!!!”

It was both sad and beautiful.

It was sad that the boy's mother died.
It was sad that the boy's father neglected him.
It was sad that the boy was basically lost and forlorn in life
It was sad that no one understood his pain and depression.

It was beautiful that the teacher discovered the truth.
It was beautiful that she had love in her heart to act on that truth.
It was beautiful that it changed the boy's outlook and profoundly
affected his life.
It was beautiful that it taught the teacher to view her future students
as persons.

It would have really been sad had the story ended differently.
A heart-broken forlorn boy who continued to be neglected and scoffed at.
Possibly turning to drugs, crime, or anti-social behavior.
Falling through the cracks to become a victim of a heartless insensitive
society.
All because his mother died, and his father was a self-centered
heartless pig.

The really sad part is that so many real lives end in the negative
scenario.

Makes you want to get out there and make a difference huh?

I used to teach college-level classes.
I always saw every one of my students as an individual person.
I tried my best to help those who seemed to be struggling intellectually
or emotionally.
I know I’ve made some differences, as all teachers do.
I’d love to teach again.

But you don’t need to be a teacher to make a difference in someone’s
life.

Yeah, I’m a sucker for human interest stories myself. It’s all about
love and compassion. It’s hard to imagine someone holding tears back on
that one. Any why should they try? I too had to wipe tears aside to
read the story.

Ironically, few Hollywood movies have moved me as deeply.

What’s that say about our culture?

But...aren't we all teachers Abra? As well as students...students of
life.
