shrimp scampi is supposed to be buttery and garlicy. I picked up some ready made for lunch and it turns out to be very much on the cheese side.

Who likes scampi and how do you prefer it?

first butterfly your shrimp

take a pie dish and melt a bunch of real butter in it

then crush and mince several cloves of garlic (and a little bit of rosemary)

open the shrimp and put em tails up in the garlic and butter and cook it in a HOT oven

I've never had really cheesy scampi...it doesn't sound appetizing. Was it parmesan?

I make a mean fettucine shrimp alfredo, with a home made cheese sauce, which is pretty tasty.


I would prefer a garlic butter sauce for the scampi though.
