Ford finally came out with the mustang...in the sixties it was a hot car..289 it looked awesome...in the seventies..they changed it..They attached the mustang name to what could be the ugliest, cheapest, sorriest car Ford has ever manufactured.

General motors kept pushing forward, with their line of Camaro's and the pontiac Firebirds, and the ever popular vette..Chevy by far..in my hunble opinion, is the absolute..the maximum.

mustang = highest # selling car for years and years since its inception...f series = best selling truck for years and years....camaro/f-bird??? i havent seen any new ones lately have you?

and as far as cheap, ugly cars ever could be applied to both of the muscle cars during their lives as they were slashed by the bean counters....(now i am not saying that i like the sn-95 and up stangs) BUTTTTTT...bass mouth camaro and late 80's, i dont think that i need to say more

Mark,

My first car was a '71 Chevy Malibu, at that time two of my brothers had Chevelles. One had a white, one had blue, and mine was a gold hard top. Wish I hadn't sold that car!!grumble

Me too !

I drive a 96 chevy silverado..it has 240,000 miles on it. I have replaced the alternator and the starter...other than that, (and of course new tires and wiper blades) i haven't done anything to it...i keep it serviced and it uses maybe a fourth of a quart of oil between changes. It still runs like a scalded dog. The only Ford truck i have ever owned..i spent more time working on it than i did driving it..but in fairness to Ford, the truck was abused before i got it.

Not in my case.....I bought a Dodge Reliant K.....cheap, after I sold my Malibu. The "K" must have stood for "klunker" because I had to replace almost the entire car, but since then I have had a Plymouth Grand Voyager, a Plymouth Neon (not the worst car ever made!! I loved mine!!) and a PT Cruiser.

CHEVY all the way I've owned an 88&89 s10 blazer both of which I beet the living hell out of on and off road both made it to 290k miles. Now I'm on my second 92 Saturn first one the timing chain went at 297k miles and well the curent one has 270k miles and no problems yet. I had an 89 wagon drove it 220 miles with no water filed it when I got where I was going an got back no problem. The murcy sable 98 wagon was the biggest pice of crap I've ever seen in my life.

I have mostly driven Chevy's..in 1978, i had a rally sport Camaro, I traded that in 79 for a z28 which i totaled. then i bought an 80 Firebird, traded that in 81 for a formula Firebird, traded that in 82 for a Corvette..lol..maybe i just didn't keep them long enough..but i never had any major problems. Since then i have owned an 85 gmc 4x4, an 86 silvrado, a 91 T/A and i never had to do anything but service them..i firmly believe in GM.

You forgot to add, "brand of vehicle with the highest turnover resale". Have you ever looked alongside the road while driving along, or looked through the classified section of the newspaper? HUGE amounts of Ford, Ford, Ford. If they're so good, why are they turned around and sold off so much?

Ford says they have "a better idea"....I'm still waiting for it.
