How about we all turn off our computers for a week.

Just think about how much we would accomplish.

Yes, I'm just as guilty.

Oh heck that's easy, have done it many times. And what happens is I notice things around me that I could be doing instead and go do them. I also find I am more relaxed and less jumpy if I have not watched the news in that long.. grin

I happen to love the educational channels, they don't tend to make me feel as if I am not accomplishing anything, because I am learning new things.. There's probably more but that's off the top of my head.

I NEEEEVVVVEEER watch tv...

However, its not because I am some super intelligent woman. Its because I find it boring when I dont have anyone to share it with.

I will watch some tv with my daughter from time to time, but i prefer her not to watch it at all so I avoid it.

I have not watched Television in over two years. Now I'm in college, I'm proactive with political issues and what little time I have left, I socialize here or volunteer my time.

In spite of all the time I spend in seclusion, studying, I have never felt so much in touch with the world.

Television is of little interest to me now. I sit enough but I can never read too much.

I have not owned a tv in years! Even then I only used it to occasionally play original play station pretty much when it came out . . . if that tells you anything about how many years . . . .

I have watched tv since then, but only as a social thing with other people at there houses as a side thing sports bars ect . . . . . maybe a simpsons /family guy episode now and again, or a show on hulu occasionally when I am super tired and cant get the motivation to find a good book, or something to research.

Wow, tv isn't what it used to be, there's lots of incredible programs now about social issues, health and the like, and channels like the Green channel about all manner of ways to go green. The do it yourself channel. The science channel, the travel channel is incredible as well. National geographic. and others.

I don't have much time for movies and that sort of programing, and they rarely hold my attention, but learning channels are incredible now.

I especially love the Builders channel and landscaping, so many new tricks to learn.. amazing

ah oh - I fibbed. I have watched TV - the Colts championship year - lesbians love their animals and their sports, I had to prove I could do it (watch the whole game that is.) What made it easier is that I have a life long friend, we are both from the Chicago area and he still lives there, so for the first time we got to pretend we were in competition - man did I rub it in when we beat DA BEARS! Ha

whew - glad I got that off my chest - sorry bout that.

I don't watch TV for over 3 years now. I watch movies on DVD, but I can't stand the TV shows and whatever else is on it. ...Ok, sometimes I peek at the weather channel.

What happens? You read more and you learn more and have more free time.

My parents are both librarians. While we could have owned televisions we didn't until I was ten. Ten to seventeen I watched maybe a couple hours a week.

Now, I find myself with it on for noise at times. Sunday in the fall is my big television day. Political talking heads followed by sports talking heads then a day of football.

I do not subscribe to any television services but am considering it for hockey and movies. News I receive via the web, newspapers and periodicals.

Television is only evil when you don't know where the off switch is.

People who whine about television corrupting children and warping minds in my view are weak willed and incapable of exercising self discipline.

I think I might watch some Stooges now and then wrestle with the urge to hit people on the head with a hammer. After all...it must be the right thing to do...I saw it on television.

It would be more difficult for me to turn the computer off then it would be to turn the TV off. I rarely watch TV.
