Are you casting that circle on December 22nd? Like what time in the day?

sounds like it's going to be a really great day and an awesome ritual.

I'm looking forward to it almost like throwing a party.

Like I'm inviting all these spirits over to my cottage. It's going to get crowded in here.

I think the word is out that there's going to be live performances.

The winter solstice for 2008 actually occurs Dec 21 at 12:04 PM Universal Time, or 7:04 AM in my time zone.

Sunrise in my area doesn't occur on the 21st until 7:39 AM. So the new Sun God will already have been born by Sunrise.

I'm not concerned about greeting the reborn God at the moment of birth in the Magick Circle ritual.

I think I will go outside and greet the new sun as it rises at 7:39.

I'll take the God Athame with me and let the light of the new sun shine on the athame.

I'll do a Sun God song ritual at that time as well.

Then I will come back inside and make some breakfast.

Then I will have a sacred bath ritual.

After that I will have various preparation rituals. Mostly smudging and preparing the sacred space for the Magic Circle ritual, which will also include some meditations, and music performed by me.

I will then take time to insure the 6 instruments I intend on blessing are all in tune and prepared for the ritual.

After these initial rituals I will make a sacred lunch. (I love to eat)

I will be baking bread on that day too. (In a bread baking machine )

I don't plan on casting the actual circle until after sunset. That occurs at 4:59 PM my time.

I will once again go outside and say goodnight to the newly born God.

Then I will come in and begin casting the circle.

The moon doesn't rise until 2:18 AM, and it's a waning moon just past the last quarter.

I'm not planning on centering this ritual on the moon. This is a Winter Solstice Circle for the celebration of the rebirth of the God.

I will cast the circle calling upon the Great Spirit, the God, the Goddess, and the Elemental Guide Spirits.

I will repeat the God song, and perform the Goddess song at that time as well.

This particular ritual has many purposes for me. One is the obvious celibration of the rebirth of the God. The other is to bless and charge all of my tools of magick as well as 6 musical instruments.

I will play each instrument as part of its sacremental blessing. This will also raise emotional energy in the circle. I have incanations written for each tool and instrument. So these charging and blessing rituals will take the bulk of the ceremony. They will all be performed with great emotion.

Intermingled with this I will also be meeting with the elemental spirit guides. This is my very first circle.

No specific goals in mind other than to communicate to them that I wish to have their support in my spiritual journeys and shamanic dreaming.

Finally I will culminate the ceremony by focusing the energy that I have raised toward a single act of healing magic. I will perform that healing magic in harmony with all the Gods and Spirits who have attended the circle and I will cast that ball of energy out into the universe.

Then I will go through the devocation ceremonies and finally the grounding.

After the ritual I'll have another feast.

Since I drink alot of tea each day, I am going to peek into my cup when almost empty to try to determine the outcome.
