what happens to us when we die?

I have practiced so many religions asking this question hoping for a answer. Today I still have no answer.

Why is it a ultimate secret of not knowing what happens to us when we die?? I just don't get it.

There are thousands of answers, but none are concrete for they are theories right??

Now I know there are so many people who wholeheartingly know the answer and believe it to be true. It is great that you have this ultimate answer of knowing what happens to you, but why doesn't everyone agree with you on it in this world? I mean we all agree that 1 + 1 = 2 right. Why can't we have a concrete answer on what happens to us when we die to where the whole world knows it to be true. A universal agreement so to say?

Do we have a soul? If yes where does it go? Why no answer for this????

i've been across. yes, you do live past this, but it's not what you think. and you can find out anything you wish, by asking your spirit guides if you want, most people have one to four guides.....but.....do you really want to know??????

I really do want to know! I want to know everything, but know this will not be possible. I would have to be able to live 10,000 years to know everything if not longer in human form.

The problem is it seems no one knows and those who claim they know only show theories, but no concrete answers. Proof of anything that would convince everyone to say "Okay! That is how that works. Now I know." You know what I am trying to say?

Yeah that Matt. He is brilliant isn't he! I actually fell for that one and was going to join! laugh

Yes join the gang! I have no clue either and probably will never know until I die, if anything happens at all. I just hope I don't watch my corpse get eaten up by worms at the process!

IMO, the reason we don't agree on what happens to us is essentially the same reason we don't agree on who is going to win a game before we decide to play.

It is part of the purpose of playing the game.

If you knew the outcome before playing the game, there would be no reason to play the game.

Try thinking of life as a game - like a maze. The purpose of the game is to get out of the maze.
Everyone starts from a different point in the maze, and there are as many exists as there are people in the maze. So of course each person would have a different viewpoint on how to get out of the maze.

And if you believe in reincarnation, just add the rule that every so often the maze changes so everything you learned about the maze up to that point becomes useless and you have to start all over.

Just a thought.

Ok, I'm dead serious right now, but when I was born, the doctor already told my mom, that "we lost him unfortunately" and then she started going hysterical to get in a another doctor. When he came in he checked me, then he put me under a faucet and cold water, then spanked me and tried to revive me and then I started to cry... the funny thing is, I have met others who were clinically dead at one point of their lives and they became very sensitive to many things, others don't notice and have weird messed up memories. For example, I described my grandmother (my mom's mom) to my mom and she was surprised because how could I know, since I was still a baby when she passed away...or told me stories that happened before me and I kinda seen it or felt like I remember it, but anyway I am no psychic or anything, but I do beleive there is another world out there...call it another dimension or "heaven" ...it doesn't matter..it's all made of sort of like feelings and colors...at least that's what I always felt. "Felt" is not a good word...neither seeing...I don't know how to describe it, we don't have a pysical sense for it or word.
Now , someone is gonna think I'm crazy or joking. embarassed

It is a good thought, but someone had invented the game so he or she knows the answer! So we are in someones game then is another way of seeing it.

I wish I could scream and say. Okay enough game! Show me how you did that!laugh

The best reply I've come up with for that "meaning of life" question is this: The answer is not "discovered", it is "decided".

In that light, asking the question of someone else is fruitless - unless you truly want someone else to decide for you. But then you'd be living your life according to their "meaning". not yours.

You are not crazy at all and thank you for sharing this. It sounds like you went through a incredible experience indeed. I can relate that their is a sense of something more. It seems we all have this in us. Some more then others. I just wonder if it is just our nerves more then our sense of knowing that we are more then just this human form we represent today. That there is a soul or other lifeform. It just is to bad we can't get a concrete answer somehow.

Very true what you say, yet it doesn't hurt to hear other idealogies as we live our lifes. It is amazing how some idealogies can be agreed upon easily for some as others not so.
So many good answers people give if you think about it. Maybe a bit of the truth lies inside all of these idealogies and we just need to somehow code it to get the answer of what lies after our death.

It's on a need to know basis, and we don't need to know. It wouldn't do any good if we did. Trust me on that. I'm not just making it up. I had an experience with death where I was able to remember little bits and pieces of it. I sure wish I had not tried. It very nearly drove me insane before I realized that there was nothing I could have done to prevent what I new was going to happen. It ain't worth worrying about. Have fun while you are here and try to treat all with the same respect you wish to be treated with. If organized religion helps you do that, then fine. If it does not, then that's fine too. But remember that you are the only one the can make up your mind about how you will live and act. bless ya, good luck, and have a great life

Could you tell me what you did see? If it is to painful then please don't, but if yes please do. I am curious even if it is a little bit of information. I mean if it is terrible then why? Couldn't a death be comfortable, painless, beautiful???

We have been told all we need to know in the Bible. If we have a relationship with Jesus, then our afterlife will be in the presence of God. That is all we really need to know. There are descriptions of heaven. That is what if will be like.

Thankyou for taking the time to answer. If the Bible say it so then why doesn't the whole world agree on it? I mean shouldn't there be a concrete answer that everybody agrees on as simple as 1 + 1 = 2? Why aren't we allowed to know the absolute truth on what happens to us?

What about all of the religions before Christianity that have been written and give their version of what happens to you when you die. Are they wrong although they existed before. Greek Mythology, Norse Mythology, what about the African belief system or even the Native Indians here! Perhaps those answers could be closer of knowing what is to be true what happens to one when one dies?

Smiless....all those people Who lived and beleived in God,
before Jesus came in the Flesh ,

God did not forget.

God made Himself known to all those people too....
and
when Jesus arose from the grave, He took those
Who had trusted in God, along with Him to heaven.

The Bible talks about heaven Smiless as a beautiful place:heart::heart::heart:

And God gives man.....every man ...a chance to believe.

God is a God of Love and Patience....

and knows when man is ready...
and when man is not quite ready to believe yet......
but waits patiently til man IS ready .

God doesn't force man to beleive.

God also waits til man fully understands God.

When man understands, and when God is made clear to man, there is no reason for man to reject God.

The only man who rejects God is just a man who doesn't yet understand God.

But Once it is understood Who Our Loving God Truly is, Who would reject Him?

In the end,I think few will reject God ,after understanding Who He is.

But if some choose to STILL reject God, AFTER UNDERSTANDING WHO God is....then that is their choice.

And God won't force them to change their minds.

But again for the most part,
I believe most
will accept Christ ,
after understanding fully Who He is.

Some people are just not there yet..that's all.

God knows our being........and understands and waits.....
Patiently,
for all to come to Him....
and to beleive on Him.

When I was seven i went into a diabetic coma and my heart stopped, I was technically dead for roughly six minutes but i can't remeber a thing. It was just like falling asleep. Do i know the answer? Certainly not and i don't mind. I am content living my life as it is now. I do believe that we are more than our bodies and minds and that perhaps there is something beyond this life. I have to step out on faith IMO that not knowing the answer is a part of the answer. Really think about it, if we knew the answers to everything what reason would we have for existing. I think that not knowing is what drives us to learn, explore and make the most of our life or lives. If you spend your entire life frustrated with not knowing then your just waisting time and not learning what you need to learn. If you go through life thinking you know the answer you are just fooling yourself. The wisest person is the one who realizes trully how limited their knowledge is and trys to make the most of everything they do and learn.

Hello MorningSong and your words sound like poetry, yet I am disturbed with the following.

You write: But if some choose to STILL reject God, AFTER UNDERSTANDING WHO God is....then that is their choice.

What will happen to these people MorningSong. Will something bad happen to them when they pass away or will they still be allowed into heaven?

Those who reject God....

and still reject God

even in their last dying breath...

are eternally separated from God, Smiless.

Cause God will never go against man's free will ....

and force man to choose Him.

That is well said! I am the very last to claim to know everything that is for sure. If I don't know - I will absolutely say I don't know. I always get bashed for this though, but at least I am honest.
I find it very interesting to see the different idealogies of these questions I pose. I think perhaps we will know more in the future. Perhaps there is some truth in everybodies answers even if some sound illogical. It could be a combination of answers to get closer to what we can agree on. Let us say a code of somesorts. Sounds crazy I know.

I personally wouldn't mind to know more of some of these hard questions we can't seem to answer to tell you the truth. This would allow me to perhaps learn something out of the scope of a human mind. Like how we can teleport ourselves to different planets, shapeshift, or even read minds let alone understand the actuality of how it works. Or how everything actually started by going back in time in reality. If only we could know what happens to us when we pass away may open up other doors to learn more subjects that haven't touched the surface yet.

yet my knowledge is limited and I am willing to admit it of course. Maybe in the future if a human can find ways to keep us alive for 500 additional years in a lifetime and have studied every subject there is to come to a closer answer.

Thank you for your reply it has taught me a lesson to just accept that some answers we will never know at the moment.
