Those are hard smiless. I will have to think about it. I tend to feel that what Jesus was teaching was not new at all. He was a brilliant man and probably had an ability to reach the citizenry and was an excellent public speaker. Some people just have that skill. Now this is if you believe for certain that Jesus existed. The Romans were a combination of extreme brutality yet at the same time, highly intelligent and organized.

A lot of it was timing. Jesus was in the right place at the right time, preaching a message that would have been popular amongst the poor people who were being oppressed by the Roman regime. He was telling them what they wanted and needed to hear right then and there.

Sounds very logical to me what you say. It could have been exactly like how you describe it.

and as you probably also know many believe he never even existed and is nothing but a fairy tale story to entertain the masses. Joseph Flavirius has been mentioned many times when it comes to this subject(spelled wrong again).

Wow that would be something if that would be true! I mean as a absolute truth that the whole book(bible) was nothing more but to entertain the Romans at the time.laugh

and of course I don't want to bash Christian believers. If you feel comfortable with your studies then more power to you. You could absolutely be correct in what you say even if alot of people don't believe. God bless:smile:
and may you show the path to peace each and everyday.

Yeah I have heard some of that. Its very likely that Jesus as an individual never existed. We seem to have a significant lack of forensic or paleontological evidence during that period of time for various reasons. We have in fact only one recovered nearly full skeleton of a crucifixion victim. Part of that was becausre the Romans would not normally bury these people but would cut them down and then leave them to rot and decompose in the sand and animals would come scavenging and drag off the remains.

The one man whos skeleton was found intact was buried in a tomb because he had wealthier Jewish parents who more than likely paid off Roman centurions to recover his cadaver for proper burial under Jewish tradition
