Topic: What's One of Your Favorite Worship Songs? | |
---|---|
AS THE DEER PANTETH
As the deer panteth for the water so my soul longeth after thee.... You alone are my heart desire, and I long to worship thee...... You alone are my strength my shield, and you alone are my........ Wish I could remember the rest of the words and another all time favorite is called: SHALL WE GATHER(BY THE RIVER) Shall we gather by the river, where bright angel feet have trod, yes we'll gatehr by the river, somethign or other by the hand of god. Again I can remember all the words, but both are very beautiful. And as a bit of trivia on shall we gather, it was originally writen and performed as a dearth (funeral song), however has come moreinto use in the spring time to praise the renewal of everything. |

I love both of those songs Daniel.
As the Deer Written by Martin Nystrom Psalm 42:1 "As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God." As the deer panteth for the water, So my soul longs after you. You alone are my hearts desire, And I long to worship You. Chorus You alone are my strength, my shield; To You alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my hearts desire, and I long to worship You. I want you more than gold or silver, Only You can satisfy. You alone are the real joy giver And the apple of my eye. Chorus You alone are my strength, my shield; To You alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my hearts desire, and I long to worship You. You're my friend and You're my brother, Even though you are a King. I love You more than any other So much more than anything. Chorus You alone are my strength, my shield; To You alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my hearts desire, and I long to worship You. |

"The Blood Will Never Lose Power"
Selah The blood that Jesus shed for me Way back on Calvary The blood that gives me strength From day to day It will never lose its power. It reaches to the highest mountain And it flows to the lowest valley The blood that gives me strength From day to day It will never lose its power. It soothes my doubts and calms my fears And it dries all my tears The blood that gives me strength From day to day It will never lose its power. It reaches to the highest mountain And it flows to the lowest valley The blood that gives me strength From day to day It will never lose its power. It reaches to the highest mountain And it flows to the lowest valley The blood that gives me strength From day to day It will never lose It will never lose It will never lose its power |

"I Trust You" Skillet Learning again that I am not my own Crawling back to where I belong Caught in between knowing You and trusting me Come on take a ride out of the in betweens Now I know I need You [Chorus:] When I can't see, I will trust You And when I get weak, I trust You And when I just can't let it go I trust that You are in control Shelter me so I can find some peace Grabbing hold of You is letting go of me It's easy when I remember I possess all that lays beyond my grasp Your power commands the weight off my back Now I know I need You [CHORUS] Now I know I trust You |

Laura, I had not found the original composer of the song, until I came across this. I think you will enjoy it: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MINTcQU1XvI I am considering having this song at my wedding in 2009. Any other suggestions would be welcome. |

It's not a Christian song, but it's BEAUTIFUL. "From this Moment On" Shania Twain (I do swear that I'll always be there. I'd give anything and everything and I will always care. Through weakness and strength, happiness and sorrow, for better, for worse, I will love you with every beat of my heart.) From this moment life has begun From this moment you are the one Right beside you is where I belong From this moment on From this moment I have been blessed I live only for your happiness And for your love I'd give my last breath From this moment on I give my hand to you with all my heart Can't wait to live my life with you, can't wait to start You and I will never be apart My dreams came true because of you From this moment as long as I live I will love you, I promise you this There is nothing I wouldn't give From this moment on You're the reason I believe in love And you're the answer to my prayers from up above All we need is just the two of us My dreams came true because of you From this moment as long as I live I will love you, I promise you this There is nothing I wouldn't give From this moment I will love you as long as I live From this moment on |

The jazzed up "In Your Presence"
In your presence there is fullness of joy and at your right hand there are pleasures ever more. You surround us with your favor my lord The earth is full of your goodness the earth is filled with your love. Exceedingly, abundantly, You give us all things to enjoy... Joy... such unspeakable joy... |

Blessings everyone.
Britty, I listened to that song and it was beautiful. Congratulations, when is the date? I will try to think of other songs. Like that suggestion beautyfrompain. Indescribable Lyrics Chris Tomlin From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea Creation's revealing Your majesty From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring Every creature unique in the song that it sings All exclaiming Indescribable, uncontainable, You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name. You are amazing God All powerful, untamable, Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim You are amazing God Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night None can fathom Indescribable, uncontainable, You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name You are amazing God All powerful, untamable, Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim You are amazing God You are amazing God Indescribable, uncontainable, You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name. You are amazing God All powerful, untamable, Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim You are amazing God Indescribable, uncontainable, You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name. You are amazing God Incomparable, unchangeable You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same You are amazing God You are amazing God |

Hi Laura, we are hoping for February 14th. I really like Chris tomlin's music. Here is another lovely video and the lyrics and a devotional below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24spuXYeFKY&feature=related How Deep the Father’s Love Devotional based on the lyrics "How Deep The Father's Love For Us" by Stuart Townend is an incredibly powerful presentation of the gospel (the good news) that Christ died for us with our guilt and sin "upon His shoulders". Every verse of this song speaks volumes about God's work on the cross to bring us to Himself in spite of our sinful condition "that He would give His only Son to make a wretch His treasure" "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" Rom 5:8 (NKJV) Read through the words of the song and let its power and truths penetrate your heart. Reflect on God's love. How deep the fathers love for us How vast beyond all measure That He should give his only son To make a wretch His treasure How great the pain of searing loss The Father turns His face away As wounds which mar the Chosen One Bring many sons to glory Behold the Man upon the cross My sin upon His shoulder Ashamed I hear my mocking voice Call out amoung the scoffers It was my sin that held Him there Until it was accomplished His dying breath has brought me life I know that it is finished I will not boast in anything No gifts no power no wisdom But I will boast in Jesus Christ His death and resurrection Why should I gain from His reward I cannot give an answer But this I know with all my heart His wounds have paid my ransom http://www.christian-music-lyrics-for-daily-devotions.com/how-deep-the-fathers-love-for-us.html |

Go tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and everywhere Go tell it on the mountain Our Jesus Christ is born. When I was a seeker I sought both night and day I asked the Lord to help me And he showed me the way. Go tell it on the mountain Over the hills and everywhere Go tell it on the mountain Our Jesus Christ is born. He made me a watchman Upon a city wall And if I am a Christian I am the least of all. Go tell it on the mountain Over the hills and everywhere Go tell it on the mountain Our Jesus Christ is born. http://www.gospelsonglyrics.org/song /go_tell_it_on_the_mountain.html |

"Broken"
By:Kristy Starling You said I'd have no more than I can handle But everyday seems to be getting harder to make good Through You, You said that I could do anything, oh anything But sometimes, I feel like I can't do it at all I've been knocked down and dragged around And now I don't know which way to go All I need is one small sign to put me to where, Where You want me I'm confused so I'm calling on You Cause I, I'm broken And I'm ready for you to pick up the pieces Won't You direct me, hold me, accept me, and mold me Put the fragments of my life back together again Cause I'm broken Somewhat embarrassed to admit this But I wonder if it's the other, or if it's You Is it trying to tempt me, or is it You Who strengthens me I'm weak, so I'm confessing to You Cause I, I'm broken And I'm ready for you to pick up all the pieces Won't You direct me, hold me, accept me, and mold me Put the fragments of my life back together again Cause I'm broken My pride has been bruised I suppose that's good My will to You, I surrender Oh, I surrender Cause I, I'm broken And I'm ready for you to pick up all these pieces Direct me, hold me, accept me, and mold me Put the fragments of this life back together again Cause I'm broken" |

At Your Feet
By:Natalie Grant She brought You oil, the purest gift she had You washed her soul with her tears Though more than a thousand years have passed I still weep at how much that woman's just like me And how much I want to be [chorus] At Your feet Where I feel Your Spirit cover me And the darkest of my sins, they are forgiven What would You ask of me, I'd give up everything Just so I can be at Your feet I know one day I will open up my eyes To the wonders of Heaven foretold And I'll see that glorious mansion on high But, I'll be content just to see Your face If I can just find my place |
