Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.Ephesians 4:32

If you are like most people, you have been hurt at some time in your life. You may have suffered intense rejection as a child or at this very moment you may be in a relationship that results in a daily dose of hurt. Hurt, regardlessof its intensity or longevity, sets each of us up to become a slave to resentment and bitterness. Our natural tendency is to hold on to the wrongs done to us by others. WIthout realizing it, we begin to view those who have offended us as owing us something. We begin expecting them to somehow pay us back for the emotinonal stress they have brought to our lives. Our desire to get even often results in fantasies of conversations we would like to have and plans we wish we had the nerve to carry out. This is one of the most damaging types of bondage. I have watched men and so men destroy those whom they loved the most because of their refusal to deal with resentment. Resentment is like a poisoned fountain. It pours out its poison into every relationship. Consequently, husbands, wives, children, and employees who had nothing to do with causing the hurt become its victims. There is a way out. It is actually very simple. Forgive. "That's impossible," you say. Oh really? Think about it; what make it impossible? Really only one thing, your refusal to let go of the lie that somehow those who have wronged you owe you something. To forgive is simply to mentally release the offending party of any obligation. "But," you say, "you don't know the pain and trouble they have caused me." That is true. But think about the pain and sorrow they are continuing to cause you by your refusal to let go. When you weigh the temporary joy you may experience when you contemplate revenge against the negative fallout in your relationships with others, is it worth it?When it comes to forgiveness, Jesus set the standard. Meditate for a moment on this thought: He who had the greatest reason not to forgive paid the highest price in order to forgive. JESUS

And thats the part i dont get ..i mean if i'm JESUS and i'm up on that cross and i'm doing my dying scene after awhile i'd have to step down and say o.k enough of that shyt ..i forgive you..i'm outta here..jump up on my camel and ride off into the sunset....the end

and if i was GOD i think i would be more upset over someone killing my son than anything else..and considering he's jesus and he didnt have to die ,but then he was resurrected so did he really die or did he like go on vacation and visit with his dad and then leave to come back here never to be heard from again... o yea.....the end ..like i said before(i hope he has a sense of humor)

So you are questioning God's love for you? LOVE is what held Him on the Cross. Jesus is the LAMB of God that took away the sins of the world. God showed His love by giving His very best...His Son.

not questioning ..wondering ..i mean like if jesus was resurrected what was really given up,i mean its only obvious that when he died he went to heaven, mustve visited the old man while he was there probably sat back talked about the good old days ,maybe even went fishing,GOD's probably got a killer boat perhaps a yahct ..doing it up God style

And look at it this way,God took away the sins, but mankind will continue to sin and God being as omnipotent as he is had to have known this ..sort of seems redundant..but im not here to debate the bible..i wasnt there and i havent been able to check out the credibility of said witnesses ..i'm just staring into the lighter side of it ..there is nothing wrong with humor in religion...

in my own way im probably more religious than those around me realize, but yet i dont go to church..i just step out my door and talk... the world is my church of which there is only one member

but i mean look at it like this why should someone have to die so that our sins may be forgiven i mean like if i were jesus i would be like "hey pops" i need a favor" i need you to forgive these ignorant azz people for the stupid shyt they do"i promise i wont ask for anything else until christmas and im sure if God loved his son as much as most parents love their kids he wouldve said o.k son but that is absolutely it til christmas and dont be asking your mother either....the end...thus leaving mankind to roam the earth in blissful ignorance once more..ok..thats the end..i mean it this time....

tombraider, just let go of all the crap that causes any doubt, most of what we experiance in this life is based on lies, therefore not real. christ's flesh died, but not his spirit. his spirit is still amoung us.

Corinthians 15.21-22 "For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive."

The tomb was empty - Jesus is alive and he told us "I am the resurrection and the life"

The bible tells us we will be given a new body at the resurrection. How would we be sure of this, except for that Jesus arose.

Thanks for sharing. It is true... anger, resentment & being offended by people is a waste of time. It has no place in the solutions.

Funny thing about getting slammed around by people is that it causes you to cry out for God justice...not revenge, but to make what's wrong in your life right. It's an awesome thing to see God divinely intervene when you allow yourself to experience the pain you feel. There is nothing like a humble heart to set you free from the fears, hurts etc, whatever they are.

I remember saying to God...You made me this way. LOL Well God showed my He had nothing to do with it. It was the corruption of the world that did that. In quietness & confidence is your strength." That's how God makes us.
