while the older children are being responsible for the younger ones? It just doesn't seem fair to the children, imho.

with imput from each child the book could be done in no time.

Aside from the parents' input regarding spending time with each child, can you imagine the bills? The hospital bill must be astronomical, let alone doctor visits. The grocery bill, the heat and water bills, the clothing, diapers, formula, baby food, toys, hobbies, athletics, extracurricular activities, vacations, gasoline, Christmas presents, school registration/books....back-to-school must be a nightmare!

I can't even begin to imagine all that.

Do the children get to go to college? Need to plan for that in there somewhere also.

I know there was a time when large families were necessary to survival. But that's really not the case anymore and I don't think it's fair to the children either.

that is just not right, 18 children!, im not going to sit here and preach about how the parents perform as parents. but i will sit here and say its really unacceptable behavior, im pretty sure the government is supplying the family with most of the support financially. which in its self goes beyond belief.

shocking is the word

you'd be wrong assuming any governmental assistance - they have real estate and other businesses which they live off of

All too true. I was just thinking off the top of my head. I know there's a ton more stuff that could be included in that.

I just can't wrap my head around that number.

It is called a family.

Ask any Catholic......older kids change diapers....

A couple is going to be interviewed on the Today show, she'll be giving birth to her 18th child in January. They have decided to write a book about parenting! How is anyone actually able to truly parent 18 children? 30 minutes with each child would be 9 hrs.

i say it should be a federal law if you have 10 or more kids you have to move to Wyoming or Montana to start overcrowding those stateslaugh

Financially able or not...how do you parent 18 children? In the true form of parenting? Giving birth, then giving food, shelter & clothing isn't all that's including in parenting.

If they're going to write a book, maybe it should be on stamina and muscle control!

They sure wouldn't be the poster family for condom use.

It was hard enough raising 5, financially, emotionally, etc. I can't imagine 18.
