Topic: How do you love God?

I was flipping channels one day and I saw a preview for a show about a priest. He was talking to a woman. He said to her, "I love you, but I love God more." This really infuriates me. How can anyone love an invisible God? God can not be real to a person. God does not walk the earth, he does not have a body, no one can know him, talk to him, see him, tough him, etc. They only love an idea of what they think is God. So the question is... how do you love an invisible God?

That priest was a fine example of a brain washed person. We are to love God with all of our spiritual being. We are to love man with all of our human being. Is that just too hard for people to get thourgh there thick heads or what? You can not turn your back on your fellow man, and say you love God. Sorry folks it don't work that way!

You love God by loving your fellow human being. No matter who they are what they believe.

And some "Christians" are the most least Christ-like people on the planet... I just try to remember we are people first and spiritual beings second (at least in this realm!)

If anyone truly feels love for 'God', then the love is real(even is God isnt). God isnt invisible for those who believe in him. My suspicion is that most people who confess a love for God, are just saying it, cos thats what they are supposed to say as Christians.

One word FAITH That means nothing. Faith in what? I have faith in a lot of things, but I don't see how people can claim to love an invisible God.

I have not seen God but I have felt Him/Her very strongly in my life. The only way I can love Him/Her is to love His/Her creation. Human and non-human creation. I fail to do this quite often. But, I keep trying.

I have not seen God but I have felt Him/Her very strongly in my life. The only way I can love Him/Her is to love His/Her creation. Human and non-human creation. I fail to do this quite often. But, I keep trying. Your doing it right now, keep up the good works, you'll be fine. I'm not even close to perfect, just forgivin! luv ya

God doesn't want us to come to Him with some "fancy religious talk" that we were taught. That's just religion for you. God ain't interested in religious words. God just wants a Sincere heart. God wants us to come to Him... just as we are warts and all. God just wants REAL folk. Dan, God wants us to just be Ourselves With Him. That's All.

The moment that each individual loves others (and self) beyond any pictures that conscious mind paints and truly knows (feels) that "thread" connecting the collective is perhaps the moment that this idea of loving god can make sense for ALL.
