So I sent myself a Friend Requests and it took a bit of consideration,
but after some thought, I accepted.

It took me a long time to find out who I really am and I like me.

I just had way too much fun in the L80s - E90s and was trippin.

Kidding aside BigGlenn, it comes down to exactly what you said.

I'm at a point in my life where I'm starting over and have to figure out
who I am and who I want to be...

I didn't know it for many years, but have come to the realization that
I'm the best friend I've got.

It's so true jean...and it's more than self reliance, health, allowing
ourselves a treat once in a while....it's the hardest
thing of all....forgiveness. Yep, Giving yourself a break every once in
a while. Strive for excellence, but laugh, pick yourself back up, pat
yourself on the back for trying even if you fail.

AND STOP BEING SO SELF CRITICAL!! and stop comparing.


aside from all the metaphors, I just wanted to see if I could BE

I don't think you are ever too old to have a second childhood especially
if the first one didn't pan out too well. Very good topic. I think being
a friend to yourself is sometimes cutting yourself some slack. The night
before last where I work one of our female aides was cutting up with me
and told me to kiss her posterior. I told her to bend over and bare it.
She thought this other guy had said it. He about turned purple because
his girlfriend was sitting beside him when that aide did that to him. I
have gotten to the point of not daring any of them to do anything where
I work any more.

I am my first best friend.

Yes I am my best friend...It took me many years to figure that out
because I used to be my worst enemy!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely I am! I wake every morning, give myself a hug, say some kind
words in the mirror and exchange smiles. Look at my pic, I even buy
myself flowers…. Well actually I grew those.
