i think its a sad deal when a man can publicly appolagize for something
he said as a joke an not as a meaningfull or racist statement at all but a joke no that wasnt enough had to make sure that he pays for what he said boy its a good thing god doesnt make you pay for all your sins this way where would you be now. wanna stop the racism then put a stop to punishing people for jokes . ever listen to a richard pryer stand up or dave chappel they both offend me very much i never knew how racist a commedian could be an i liked pryer before i seen that show hes funny in his movies . maybe we should look at this from a different side for a change bet you cant to stuck on the race thing. from my point a public appology should have been enough for anyone but not for them oh no its a black thing not just a joke thing i dont beleive in being racist but dont like it when they shove it down our throught an say shhh or your being racist. maybe after a couple of decades im starting to get that way because of crap like that . where is our hearts an the forgiveness an compassion for our fellow man or women of any race that are trying to make it here as an american . |

you know some old friends might have noticed old doc hasnt been involved
to much in the political forums on this site, but i could npt help myself or stay away from this topic. I find it very interesting that a basic principle of our land has been turned into an evil. why doc whatever could you mean? Im glad you asked; I dont care what was said, or about whom, the color of any of their skin, what I care about is the freedom of speech granted all americans, not just any particular ethnicity. Al Sharpton, and The Rev. Jesse Jackasson have decided that they and no one else should dictate was is allowed to be said on the public airways and that no one else has that same freedom as they. "nappy headed ho's " while I will agree that it is both sexist and racist in its tones, it was said as a shock jock humor that don imus has always done. but the fact that it was said by an old white man and not some gangster rapper made it oh so terrible. the way that don imus was lead out in front of the nation on this, has taken us one step closer to the censored era of the nazi's of the past. this time instead of it being the arian brotherhood crap starting this mess, its the al and jesse comedy tour. big difference between the two groups, arias advocated no one being allowed to read say or see different views, al and jesse, no ones but them can say any inflamatory remarks. show me a nation who stands proudly by its freedom of speach, then allows a knucklehead to bash those very freedoms, and i'll show you a nation with balls who is worthy of being defended. watch whats going on in your country, be diligent in maintaining your freedoms, and becareful that you dont sacrifice them under the premises of political correctness. thats about it, dont really care to get to far into this, thanks for reading if you made it this far then theres still hope. DOC Airborne!!! |

From what I understand, The girls on the team forgave the man after
meeting with him for over three hours. He was fired before the meeting even took place. It's frightening to me that these huge corporations are so intimidated by Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson that they'd throw someone who's been there for thirty years(probably longer than any member of the board of directors). Have they all forgotten the Tawana Brawley case that imprisoned an upstandind member of the community for years before he was cleared of all charges? Have they forgotten the Himey Town comment from Rev. Jackson? Al Sharpton has never apologized for his actions in the Brawley case or many other inciteful stands he has taken. Jackson continues to gain power through threats of boycotts and demonstrations. The fact that such powerful entities cowtow to the likes of these men (just because they jump on their soapboxes and scream the loudest) is frightening. The media is in the buissness of getting the consumer to watch their particular programs. The media is who has legitimized these men. The media should watch out, Because Sharpton has made it clear that none of the media is safe. Unless of course, They put down a white person. That's o.k.. |

From the Associated Press.
Updated: 10:21 a.m. CT April 13, 2007 SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - A small radio station intends to run the “Best of Imus” next week in defiance of Don Imus’ firing. Fred Lundgren, chairman of 1,400-watt KCAA (1050 AM), said the station would start the series Monday with the program that wound up getting Imus cashiered. “I’m not going to let networks dictate to me who I run on my station,” said Lundgren. The station, which has broadcast the shock jock’s morning show since 2003, also plans to air mostly supportive listener mail and e-mail reacting to the controversy. The station can be heard in communities east and south of Los Angeles. The Imus material also will be available on the station’s Web site at www.kcaaradio.com Monday. Calls late Thursday to Westwood One Inc., which syndicated Imus’ morning program, were not immediately returned. Lundgren said the motive for broadcasting the Imus reruns is in part financial. “I hate to say it, but without Imus, we’re pretty much toast,” said Lundgren, adding: “What Imus did was deplorable, inexcusable, but it shouldn’t end the career of a man who has done so much good. This is an overreaction beyond anything I’ve ever seen in radio.” |

Those remarks by Imus were terrible.
With that being said. I believe that the only people who can credibly cast stones are those who have also publicly denounced the same kind of speech from any other person or group. (example: rap music) If you have looked the other way or promoted (promoted = bought CD's) this kind of behavior, what ever your color, you should keep your mouth shut. I really have not heard much criticism before now from the majority of the so called "black community" How easy it is to look at your neighbor and point out his faults, and then scream that he is picking on you. |

Armydoc-thank you! Once we allowed ourselves to be lead into the
wilderness of political correctness, we seem to have abandoned our grasp on the fundamentals. It's difficult to gain perspective from a narrow-minded nation that relies on the media for its truth. |

parttime i dont think u have the right to tell anyone to shut up out
with the free speech hey what we going communist now only a certain race can say what they want . how sad is that a person who is making a joke maybe he didnt even think about what he had said . i dont like the stand up comedian dave chapel for the reason that its ok for him to put down whites maybe we should go after him next make him do a public apology then fire him the same way oh wait hes not white wouldnt fly would it . everyone has rights except whites black colledges / no white colledges see minorites hired here all the time . no one else posted above that . they also have gay rights . but no straight rights i know you dont like what im saying but put yourself where i stand we watch everything we say everywhere we go for fear we,ll offend someone but everyone else can cut us down thats ok seems like a life of having everyones rights but yours ramed down ur throat but yours for something you have nothing to do with . if we want to stop this hate we need to do it from both sides not just one because you have the power of the media to do so. |

The Imus situation is just a perfect example of reverse racism,
something that is rampant in the states today. If one group can use words, all groups can use them. Or do black people intend to put whites on "the back of the VERBAL bus" now? Are they now trying to claim they should be the only ones given freedom of speech? Just plain sick and tired of all the double standards. |

just a little story i picked up from violentacres.com
A Racially Charged Baseball Game April 16th, 2007 This weekend, my husband and I took the children to a baseball game. As we huddled close together, clutching lukewarm cups of hot chocolate, I attempted to explain the game to my young stepdaughter. “Which team do we want to win?” she asked. “Well, do you see how some guys are wearing black uniforms and some guys are wearing white? We’re rooting for the guys wearing white.” We discussed the mechanics of the game and the appropriate cheer times. All of the sudden, our team hit a home run. The fireworks went off, the crowd went wild, and in the midst of it all, my stepdaughter screamed: “GO WHITE GUYS! BEAT THOSE BLACK GUYS!” My husband and I exchanged a look over her head and nervously surveyed the crowd. A few people smirked in our general direction, but no one seemed like they were reaching for the lynching rope yet. Neither one of us wanted to punish her, because she truly meant nothing by it. But how do you explain a child’s innocence to the few who are determined to take offense to every little thing in this post Imus world? While we contemplated this in the bleachers, our team was busy striking out on the field. I leaned in and attempted to explain this new development to my stepdaughter. “Now the guys wearing the black uniforms are going to have a turn to bat. Our guys are going to try to strike them out.” Too loud for my comfort, she replied, “ARE ALL BLACK GUYS BAD? OR JUST THE ONE WITH THE BAT?” To make matters worse, I looked up at the video screen and noticed that the guy currently holding the bat was, indeed, a black guy. With a nervous laugh, I said, “Heh. No, the guys wearing the black uniforms aren’t ‘bad.’ They’re just on a different team. I mean…I’m sure they’re really nice guys and everything. We just happened to be rooting for the guys wearing white.” Heh. Heh. Back on the field, a guy from the black team managed to steal a base. The crowd started booing. “Why are they making that noise?” my stepdaughter asked. “Someone on the other team stole a base,” I told her. “BOO! BLACK GUYS SHOULDN’T STEAL! BOO!” We had nosebleed seats. For a second, I considered hurling myself over the edge of the balcony. |
