hiya you

it is a stimulant, nerve tonic, anti-depressant, and pain reliever...

the herb itself is wonderful!

One reason I strongly caution folk with the pure oils, is the potency. A
few drops usually equals several, or more whole plants. So, dilution,
and blending in carrier oils is an absolute essential. Especially with
the more toxic type plants.

The oil shouldn'tbe used in kids under 16, and pregnant women.

it is also an expectorant, and can cause cramping or spasms in pregnant
women.

Hi Jane--thanks for the thread. Have you been prescribed Cymbalta for
pain yet?

I have been on it for about a year and it has helped tremendously. My
sister had chronic back pain, tried Cymbalta and it didn't work. Like
with any other meds, it is a roll of the dice. My sister now gets
cortisone shots every 3 months and that has helped her back pain.

Good luck to everyone here. I hope you can find some relief with your
chronic pain. I will say prayers for all who have posted
here.flowerforyou

I have an auto-immune illness that was very hard to diagnose,It can be
painful at times and it makes you very tired,It has similar symptoms to
Lupus and MS.I had to learn to live with it,it may never go away. The
treatment is not so great either.
You can not let it beat you,do not give into it.What I have is
Sarcoidosis of the central nervous system,it is no joke, but I am healthy
and strong .I almost gave up a year and a half ago.But that was a lesson
I learned from. You just have to take it one day at a time depression is
not something that will help it.You are not alone, you just need to know
that.tThere are support groups out there, and you can probably find them
online
through Google ,etc. Good luck I know how you feel.

hey guys...

Cathme,
calendula oil is another, and apricot...

some oils don't have the same shelf life.

Here's a good reference with an array of carrier oils, and good solid
info on the benefits, and cautions of oils...

lemme know what ya try, kay?

No mbcasey, doc's don't want to go with Cymbalta. I have the new
specialist's appointment fast approaching in June and am on the
cancellation list if something opens sooner. Have had the cortisone
shots....

Will, thanks for posting. I have not heard of sarcoidosis. You're
right, as are others, one day at a time......flowerforyou

my mom goes to an alternative chiropractor, and she swears by her for
pain relief. she's made wonderful changes in my mother's life...she
gets around MUCH better than she used to.

no caffeine, and no aspartame. i have arthritis, and caffeine
exacerbates it, so i'm sure it would for other things as well.

a note on lavender: it is not to be used with anyone that has asthma or
breathing problems. it's sad they put it in baby products...and each
one has a warning label on it, for this very reason.

Lori is correct. As said earlier, be careful. I believe Chamomile
(roman and germane) is another.. as far as allergies, asthma...anything
that is inhales in an asthma patient should be checked first by doctors,
or pharmacists(which know the most about interactions and such, since it
is thier specialty)

Good to know Lori and Nene.... I had bad asthma growing up and always
had two inhalers on hand. Not as bad anymore but still have them jsut in
case and if need be. Moving back and forth from Ontario to Alberta
affected me, as to the climate. In Alberta migraines increased because
of the chinooks in the winter. The air was drier in Alberta compared to
Ontario.
