Hey purplecat. I know how you feel. The guy that hit me was still
drunk from the night before. He quit his job and fled the province.
Can't be located to be held accountable for his actions frown

Hey everyone!! I can relate to all.........I have systemic lupus,
fibro, Sjogren's, Raynaud's, vasculitis of the brain, and various other
trouble, due to the lupus. I was diagnosed 10 years ago and deal with
the pain each and every day, some days being worse than others. I take
and have taken many different meds, and find my 800 mg ibuprofens work
the best, as they are an anti-inflammatory, and bring joint swelling
down, which alleviates some of the pain. I've tried all kinds of
herbals (except the one recently mentioned, I will check it out) and
again find anti-inflammatories are the best for pain relief. The
drawback is that they mess with your stomach, so I do Prilosec twice a
day. I have kidney, heart and brain involvement, and have to see my
rheumatologist once a month, minimum for blood work and urine sample.
My little sister (she's 35) also has it, and has been on dialysis for
the last 3 months. Both of her kidneys are going to go, and we'll lose
her. I was told 10 years ago that I have 10 years to live, almost to
this day, and I fight each and every day to function as a normal,
healthy person would. Stress will definitely play a factor in fibro, or
lupus, so don't let things bother you. I know, easier said than done,
but I am serious. The more stress you have, the worse you will get.
Trust me on that, I know. Being ill with these types of diseases means
you have to make some lifestyle changes. Figure out what you can and
can no longer do in life, and make the necessary adjustments. It takes
time, but it's worth it, as you end up saving yourself alot of pain, and
suffering for those who are around you. I know, we shouldn't have to
worry about what it does to our loved ones, but it does affect them too.
I have all sorts of knowledge on these subjects, I've done so much
research, and yet everyone's case is always a little different. If
anyone has any questions, please ask me, I will check back to this
thread often, I just discovered it a few minutes ago. I must run, my
fingers feel like they're going to fall off now. Oh, please let us know
how the acupuncture works for you, that it something I have not tried,
but do reflexology, and that does help some. Good night all!! Hugs!!

Suzie! So nice to see you here! flowerforyou

Unattached, thank you for sharing. Life can be so much more difficult
with stress, you're right. Just trying to cope and function in a fast
paced job is difficult if not impossible some days but I refuse to stop
working. There very well may be a point and time I will have to slow
down more or all together...I just don't know. One day at a time is the
best I can do.

Sage, thank you for the sites...lot's to read over the weekend. Still
reading and reading and reading, lol, learning.flowerforyou

Lot's of information adn suggested alternatives from friend's. Looking
forward to the ancient chinese accupuncture, next week. Have been lucky
that I did get some relief from it, not everyone does. The migraines and
ocular headaches are frequent again. I have a crappy, worn out old chair
at work adn put in a request for a decent chair with back/lumbar spine
support weeks ago.....company is giving me the run around on it. Just
makes it so much more painful and uncomfortable, having to sit in a
crappy chair. Arrrrrrggggh!

G'mornin Jane,
Sorry I haven't wondered back in here.
I was just looking at a catalog from PURITAN.COM
their prices compare to the best ones at walmart.
if you get their specials (buy 2 get 3 free or 1for1)
my mom takes GLUCOSAMINE CHONDROITIN & MSM
It takes a few weeks to feel it.
I know it took swelling out of my knees.

Ohhh catch, I was reading up on those two and wondering if they are of
any help. They had them on special at Walmart over here. Very few
speciality stores, this is a small city and have to hunt for things
here. My knees have been getting worse, lol. More tender, painful....
crouching or bending down is not like it used to be.

If anyone needs to talk to me, has worries or concerns...I am a great
listener. I understand alot of what the ill and hurting must go through.
I have had every test in the book, hours of waiting, and multiple
surgeries. Just thought I would put myself out here to join your
support.

When I went to the puritan site at least its some where to use as a
refrence. My friend orders for her parents from there the price work out
about the same only if you bought the 2 & got 3 free plus sh&h thats
alot of $ to spend if you dont have it.

I was lookin to see what "SAM-e" is. it shows it in a cap. with the
GLU&MSM boost mood & support emotional well-being..
those are over twice as much.

Has anybody used DMSO ??? years ago when I first worked for a Vet this
Dr. used it with skin products. It was illegal in the states. if I got
it on my hands INSTANTLY I tasted it. weird stuff but it works great to
get something absorbed into the joints. you just have to be very careful
what you mix.
