From what I have seen Vista will get slow, in very short order.
Because most programs that new users try to use will not work with Vista.
You have to do your homework when useing new Programs like Vista.

what i have heard about Vista is that there is a lot of security stuff built into it. thats why it needs like a gig of memory to run. so i think u will need atleast 2 gigs installed in order it to work decently. there are different levels to vista also, i guess the better one probably use more memory up. i still think XP professional is the way to go, until they iron out some bugs and updates, patches and stuff. plus you may need to get updates for yur old software to work with vista too. best of luck with vista anyway, but if u have an old copy of XP and have all that memory load (2gig) u will be good to go with that.

I had vista and hated it ! ,, it was not compatible with my scanner, printer, TV card, Graphics card and many more little toys. No update drivers were available for most of my toys. So I took vista off and cleaned the hard drive and installed XP Pro. The only Problem was the ethernet card was built for vitsa only! So Xp Drivers would not push it. ( I hate vista ) After several attempts with different drivers all of which would not push it, I put a set of drivers on it that were a generic driver for win98, It worked. It runs faster now ,, alot faster than vista. Vista claims to have the best Graphics, I'll give up the graphics for dependable anyday!
